I just need to know two things
1. Will Ole Miss be stripped of their 2003 SEC championship?
2. Are the OM fans at least a little upset that Freeze just isnt very smart and yet they still hired and paid him

I disagree. I think it would be the only thing that causes a death penalty, regardless of precedence.

Your proposition would be valid if cable subscriptions were increasing. They are not. They are declining and all reputable industry predictions are for the next round of contracts will be for substantially less.

ESPN has lost millions of subscribers in the past 5 years. Colleges will have to be making some serious financial decisions when these contracts expire.

I'm not talking in regards to NCAA. I'm just talking about in general. The point shaving thing wouldn't leave permanent damage on anyone like misconduct with underage girls would.

Is Ole Miss claiming an Sec title in 2003? I think Lsu played in Atlanta that year.

Don't back yourself into a corner, it is not just cable subscriptions involved, satellite as well as online is accounted for.

The contracts and the way folks view media will be evolving until the end of time but a la carte is the future and the SEC will thrive in this environment.

It is the mid majors and non revenue sharing conferences that are going to be devastated by the pullback in money.

Ole Miss getting the death penalty would destroy the school, not just the AD. All the money that has been invested in upgrades would kill them when attendance plummets and donations stop rolling in. I don't think the NCAA would ever do that again.

Regardless of what delivery system is used, subscription levels are predicted to drop.

Possibly, but at what cost to the viwers and the universities? Pay per view will be much more expensive per event than subscription. With fewer universities on view, revenue to all members drop. As far as the SEC thriving, who knows? Granted that the SEC is on top of the heap now (regardless of what Jimbo or Dabo claim) but there is no guarantee it will last.

If SEC revenue sharing continues, it would be foolish to kick a member out. Some day, some hot shot Ole Miss coach might be the next Saban. The SEC would welcome their share of the rights to see them, no matter the delivery system.

Ole Miss will not get the death penalty simply because college football is a much bigger business now than it was even 30 years ago. If you forced Ole Miss to cancel football for the 2018 season you not only screw Ole Miss, you screw the rest of the SEC (the SEC West in particular).

meh. The SEC west teams would have time schedule another game. A few teams would actually benefit by picking up an extra home game.

It would hurt because the sec west teams would only have 7 conference games. That could hurt big time if you're trying to get into the cfp. It'd be tough to try to get another p5 team on the schedule in such a short period.

A coach like saban may never come around again, and at ole miss? Even less likely. He won titles and had success at two juggernauts of football programs. LSU and Bama are leaps and bounds ahead of ole miss in every aspect of an athletic dept and football program. Do you understand that? Not to mention, Ole miss has to play both LSU and Bama every damn year with auburn texas am and a regular sec slate throw in. It's very unlikely to happen at ole miss. Why the frick do you think they cheat so hard at ole miss and have scandals like this every 20 years or so? Because they can't hang and know they can't compete head up...that's why. That is the truth.

I keep seeing everyone mention these point shaving rumors. But I havent seen any actual article or examples. If thats true though they are completely fricked.
