I honestly haven't heard anything worse than point shaving. But that's pretty fricking bad. And criminal if true. Well, that and the predatory rumors about Hugh, but everyone has known those rumors for a long time.

The point shaving on top of everything else could shut down their entire athletic department.

I'd say the three big ones would be
point shaving
Briarcrest
escorts for underage recruits
If any of those are true it's deep shite for Ole Miss.

Some of these OM posters (they are on this site as well) are delusional with their talks of lawsuits against Mississippi State players.
If OM wants to see what happens when they sic lawyers on 18 year old student athletes of other conference members, then they're welcome to. Dumbasses.

Hugh had a reputation for being predatory toward female students. Briarcrest allegedly silenced them. Ole Miss heard the rumors (because everyone did), but overlooked it.

Rumored allegations of sexual misconduct with young girls/athletes.

So we are going to kick Ole Miss out?
Posted on 7/24/17 at 10:15 pm to AUCE05
If it was up to me, yes. But sadly I don't make that call.

If Ole Miss got kicked out of the SEC that might be worse than the death penalty.
Posted on 7/24/17 at 10:27 pm to KingwoodLsuFan
Well if Ole Miss got the death penalty I'd think they would get kicked out of the SEC anyways, but yes - they would have to seriously downgrade all their programs if they got kicked out, which tbh is probably not a bad idea considering how their administration was unable to handle the big league with grace.

That's because, in terms of things a program can do, there's almost nothing worse than point shaving.
If that happened, there will be prison time under RICO. The guy who bankrolled the BC players got 20 years. The player involved served over 2 years.
That shite would be serious. It would not only destroy Ole Miss, but damage the credibility of the entire game.
I sincerely hope there was no point shaving.

Ole Miss will not get the "death penalty" nor will they get kicked out of the SEC. There is way too much money at stake. Think it through. Even cancelling just one Ole Miss football only season would cost the SEC and of course the NCAA a ton of tv money. Booting them from the conference would void all of the television contracts with the SEC in all sports.

Ick. As much as I'm enjoying Ole Miss' suffering I hope this allegation is not true simply for how twisted, disgusting, and evil rape, sexual assault and other such things are.
And thanks to the both of you for saying what that rumor was.

at least he not accused of father rape. That is pretty gruesome stuff. Almost as bad as littering.

A short term loss for the SEC would be a long term windfall, voiding the TV contracts would be a huge bonus as the SEC would love to renegotiate due to the SEC networks success. Not to mention adding another market adds to the pie as a whole.
Dropping a MS school and adding a high population state to the league would increase each members take by a likely 7-8 million a year due to the way the contracts are written, x amount for each in state TV subscriber.

Out of the big three that have been discussed here (and it is one of them), point shaving would be the lesser of the evils.
