I watched a little last night, the announcers went on and on about the heat, mid 80's?

No, yesterday and today are fine. Tomorrows 97 with harsh UV. The convection effect heats it up a few more degrees. It’ll feel like triple digits.

You ever run 6.2 miles at 4:32 per mile pace in 80 degrees? Try it and let us know how it goes. Heat and humidity affects even elite, highly trained athletes.

Texas women DQ'ed from 4x100 after our girl confused a Tennessee uniform for a Texas uniform and drifted way out of her lane during the handoff. What a huge screwup. Still won heat, but for nothing.

Bama men’s 4x100 was DQ’D also for an exchange zone violation. At this point in the season those exchanges should be like a machine. Would have easily advanced to finals with their time. Made me sick. That’s points pissed away.

KOTW, I posted on the Auburn page earlier but former Alabama HC (and my former coach) Harvey Glance has died. Massive heart attack.

No way, man! He came to Alabama in 97 and rebuilt the program. Recruited Kirani James, Olympic gold medalist in 2012 in 400M. Sad day for track & field, man. Sorry for your loss.

I just went to the funeral of my old HS coach Tom Jennings of Gardendale and Vestavia Hills. I talked to Echols from Mt Brook, Huber from Vestavia Hills and others. Huber gave the eulogy.

Yep. Coach Glance left right after I graduated, although I only ran until 94. Auburn wasn’t paying him what he was worth and he left and built a pretty good thing at Alabama.
We lost Mel Rosen a few years ago as well.
