tried to tell you guys they couldn't pin a thing on Cam. They had zero proof. It's simple. You can't be convicted of things people do in your name without your knowledge.
Forgive me for not keeping up with this drama as close as some, but are you saying that if there is NO EVIDENCE that Cam and Auburn "knew about it" then Cam and Auburn get off the hook?

All that happened here was Auburn made Cam ineligible because they "know" of Cecil's pay for play plan. That's all the NCAA knows about now.
Now they investigate about the actual paying for Cam Newton by Auburn.
There's really nothing to celebrate about if you're an Auburn fan.

It doesn't matter if nothing is ever pinned on the kid to the public. It's just like when Mark McGuire retired right before the steroid allegations. Everyone knew he was guilty regardless if it was ever proved or not. We don't know if Cam took money, but everyone pretty much agrees his recruitment was illegal in one way or another. That's all that matters. You can have your championship rings and banners but folks will never give you full credit.
Most intelligent and logical human beings don't believe he's totally innocent. There was far too much smoke for there to be no fire.
You guys can say you don't care what other people think, but we all know you do. Everyone cares, or you wouldn't root for "your team" in the first place. It's the reason you have an account on TD anyway, so you can come argue about your team and gloat in their victories.
So, enjoy your asterisk of a season, regardless of the outcome.
sincerely,
everybody else.

"The conduct of Cam Newton's father and the involved individual is unacceptable and has no place in the SEC or in intercollegiate athletics," said Mike Slive, Southeastern Conference Commissioner. "The actions taken by Auburn University and Mississippi State University make it clear this behavior will not be tolerated in the SEC."
Was this added by mistake, or is Slive just lying?
I question this as well..
I can tell my children that certain actions WILL NOT BE TOLERATEDtil I'm blue in the face. Unless I punish them and send a message that I mean what I say, it does not good. Who's being punished in all this? Cecil? Rogers?

Was there an AGREEMENT in place at any time between Cecil and any SEC school?
There might have been.
This case is still open and anything could still happen.
And if you want to argue that Cam didn't get any of that money, well, Reggie Bush didn't directly get that house. His parents did. And he was still found ineligible partly because of that.

Correct, which is FANTASTIC news for Auburn considering the amount of time they've had and the amount of evidence already acquired.

They've been doing that, boss.

i LOVE how people say *asterisk of a season....deal with it.
you people who were ready to hang him just ATE CROW. Sorry for YOUR loss...deal with it.
....then again, we expect this type of behavior from the enemy, right????

I understand your reaction, but you're incorrect. We still know some very shady shite has gone on with the kid and his father, and that he shouldn't be allowed to compete against unpaid athletes.
No one has to eat crow, because we still don't believe you.
Sorry

Its been said the SEC is more strict than the NCAA and I have no clue. Is there any possiblity the SEC will rule him ineligible based on the same info the NCAA had?

Keep crying, Cathy.
For what it's worth, my position on this issue has never changed and I know we aren't necessarily out of the woods.

For real, though, you guys are some hypocritical motherfrickers. You guys circle jerk over innuendo and we "celebrate" over NCAA rulings and we're the ignorant ones? Get the frick out.
Maybe the most acccurate statement made on the SECrant regarding Camgate to date.

I didn't say *asterick of a season. Another poster did.
I am however, still ready to string the Newton's up. I think Cecil is a scum of the earth that whored out his own son. Does Cecil's actions sound like a man of God to you? How would you feel if he was standing at your pulpit and preaching God's word to you on Sunday?
Cam is an excellent football player. But he is a man of very little integrity based on his history of making poor decisions (laptop, academic fraud, etc). But I guess we can't expect him to be much better than his old man.
