Auburn may want to go with the ole jay Johnson approach against bad arse aces.
Take every first pitch and concentrate on battling with 2 strikes so that you get that pitch count up

Seems like that’s been the plan. I think everyone has taken the first pitch but guys are struggling to even get a bat on the ball.

That approach works a lot . It’s the reason we had those big comebacks in the regional and we almost did it a 3rd time to advance but gave up a sac fly after the 4 run comeback in the 8 th
We would have advanced if that sac fly didn’t happen in the top of the 9th.
We scored 10 in the 8 th in one game to win and then did it the next night by scoring 4 in the 9 th and then winning in extras.
After that we lost a not very close game and then the game I referenced above is what eliminated us. Came up 1 run short ,but the strategy just worked for us a ton this year

Well he is our ace.
Don't expect a productive offensive inning here. Next one is the second time through the lineup though. Hope we fire up there.

Not sure if y’all heard or care, but we picked up an ace in the transfer portal yesterday. A pitcher from creighton. He’s been their conferences pitcher of the year for the last two seasons. He had a 15k complete game in his first start this season and has a career era of just over 2
We get crews and Morgan back for sure next year and have the no.1 recruiting class. Even if we only get half our guys to school it’ll still be the No. 1 class is what they’re saying.
Gotta add more starting pitching though.I’d imagine that the opportunity to be a weekend starter in the sec west will be appealing to some guys for this upcoming year.
Transfer portal is gonna be hit hard by the sec teams
