The thing is, the SEC is the most dominant in sports. Participation trophies to be "fair" for teams that are RPI 120+ in a field of 64 just to "do the right thing" isn't my cup of tea.

The last major upset out of the SEC I can think of was Coastal winning (from the sun belt conference) and tbh, there are some good teams in that conference.

If a team is good enough and deserves it, they'll beat an SEC host.

While you are preaching to the choir here, the powers that be do have a responsibility to try and keep things fair. This is still college athletics and these are still young people we are dealing with.

Before I logged off last night I had to listen to the broadcast crew of the Aggies game (Stanford regional so West coast bias) bitch about the SEC getting 8 hosting teams for 5 straight minutes. Even while there was action on the field, the color guy kept plowing ahead with his diatribe as the play by play man was calling the action. It was hilarious.
