A solid defensive role player off the bench? Sure. Stud? Nahhhh

Again, if you just buy into the meme that he only takes charges, you haven't watched him play.

He was without a doubt the leader of our team this season. In all aspects.

Jaylin is not an NBA starter level player. Being a starter would probably be the minimum requirement to be considered a "stud" at the next level. Not saying he's a bad player by any means, and I wasn't the clown saying all the can do is take charges, but saying he's going to be a "stud" in the NBA is honestly laughable

For the record, I do think he will take on a role player role but will steadily earn a lot of minutes. Like was previously said, he loves the game and is a leader and great locker room guy

Jaylin Williams is a pure center with mediocre athleticism and positional size. He doesn’t have a consistent jump shot and was generally poor from an efficiency standpoint offensively (sub 50% from the field is terrible for a college big).

He is smart and has good passing instincts. Solid rebounder. I think he can be an nba player. But I struggle to see the ceiling here.

We will put this on the back burner for a little while. You may have seen him play, but I've followed him closely. He has a very high ceiling as a player. Our entire offense ran through the guy even if he didn't average 20 a night. He does everything you need of a player and he does it all very well.

One of the highest basketball IQs I've ever seen. He does whatever it takes to help his team win 100% of the time. He will have a long NBA career barring any injuries and he will even develop into a very solid scoring threat.

Banchero shot 47.8% from the field. You know why he went #1? Because he is young, athletic and can improve his shooting for that reason

Williams is a sophomore and was still improving a lot even towards the end of the year

This also implies you haven't seen him play that much.

Williams was a very good college player. He just became the poster boy for college refs love affair with calling charges. He just took advantage.

I won't bump it because that would require effort. I figure you're an intelligent enough person that you'll remember, and if you have any honor, you'll eat your crow. I would do the same.

Just to reiterate, he is YOUNG and that is why his ceiling is a bit of an unknown but likely high.

This post will be forgotten about as quickly as Jaylin's NBA career. Sorry to ruin your fantasy of me thinking about you.

Agreed and I'm not saying jaylin will be better than banchero, just pointing out that he isn't that statistically different and is the same age and build.

And just to add that the draft told us tonight that banchero put up those numbers with a better supporting cast and players to help him create shots. And also kenpom rated Arkansas strength of schedule harder than duke's so jaylin did that against tougher opponents.

So, if there is a hard rule that <50% fg in college for a big isnt good then, that wouldn't be great for banchero, yet, he was the #1 pick tonight for plenty of reasons that I do agree with.
