Still down 49% from last years game, and 40% from 2008's game.

This is probably what he was referring to.

Not surprisingly, ratings and viewership plunged for Saturday's Auburn/South Carolina SEC Championship Game.

Auburn's blowout win over South Carolina earned a 6.0 final rating and 10.093 million viewers on CBS, down 46% in ratings and 44% in viewership from last year (ALA/FLA: 11.1, 17.969 mil), and down 36% and 33%, respectively, from 2008 (FLA/ALA: 9.3, 15.061 mil).

In each of the past two years, the SEC title game featured high profile programs Alabama and Florida, both times in a battle of the top two teams in the country.

2008 featured the #1 and #2 teams in the country.
2009 featured the #1 and #2 teams in the country again, both undefeated.
2010 featured a 3 loss #18 ranked team in USCe.

Not a good comparison on how Auburn will do bringing in ratings.

but there's never been 2 explosive offenses like these up against eachother

2008 UF vs. UO.

UO was the highest scoring offense in the history of college football and UF was averaging 45 points as well.

I'm sorry that a simple statement of fact, in direct response to someone commenting on ratings, agitates you so. That chip on the collective Auburn shoulder must be very heavy.

You're taking me too seriously. Agitated would be a bit of an exaggeration...buzzed and bored would be more accurate.

It very well could happen. Was there anybody who thought the Florida-Oklahoma BCS NC game was going to end up as a 24-14 final score with the two teams being knotted up at 7 at halftime?

I think Oregon is gonna get a hard lesson in SEC style defensive fronts.

it really is nationally uninteresting... the ratings will prove this too.

The Cotton Bowl is predicted to be the most watched bowl game.

I think the ratings will be good but you have to keep in mind the game is on ESPN this year as opposed to fox or ABC. So total viewership will be less.

Tennessee gave the Ducks a hard lesson for exactly one half.

Unfortunately for the Vols, their team was nonexistent in the 2nd half:

quote:

1 2 3 4 T
#7 ORE 3 10 14 21 48
TENN 6 7 0 0 13

The Ducks and Auburn are the best 2nd half teams in football. Should be a damn fun game to watch.

These are the 2 most exciting teams to watch in college football. We went undefeated in 2004 too, did you? Team prominence.. Bama fans crack me up... 1 good year last year and they've sucked the last decade. Don't talk to much smack or I'll sick UTAH on you again so you can f*ck up our conference again! People still talk about that loss you had to them.
