I guess it could, if they lose to Yale. But losing to Yale would be embarassing enough even if he doesnt make that statement. The entire fanbase would feel the embarassment of losing to some non-scholarship nerds. Imagine having a stacked team getting huge NIL dollars and losing to a bunch of future congressmen. Nate Oats better hope that doesnt happen to him.

Its only embarrassing posters that say shite like this. You literally got your coach from Buffalo. Good teams are everywhere.

Get outta here with that War Damn Anyways bullshite. Yale was not a good basketball team compared to Auburn last year. Compared to the lunch bunch at the YMCA, yeah i guess Yale was a good team.

If either team loses today, its not a bad loss.

If either team loses to an Ivy League school or some tournament team that is only in there because they won their conference tourney, that is a bad loss. That's not me being a hot take merchant. That's just the reality we all live in.

I dont think either side should be eager to determine which fanbase knows more about basketball. It is surely a race to the bottom.

That's your imagination. Reality is shite happens. It took New Mexico choking on FTs just for Auburn to steamroll to the Final Four.

That loss to Yale is no less egregious than Bama losing 5 out of 7 to close out the regular season last year. Auburn lost to a tourney team: yall got drummed by an average of 14 points.

Delusional. NCAA tourney games are more important than regular season conference games.

There is no argument.

You think Greg Byrne would've kept Avery?

There is no basis in reality for this delusional, but typically self-centered Auburn take. If Bama would have happily accepted mediocrity indefinitely, why did they fire Gottfried, the coach who got the program the furthest they had ever been in the tourney?

I know it’s cliche to say around here but the quoted sentiment above makes it so clear that Auburn’s fanbase generally has no understanding of anything that happened before Pearl.

Stupid emotional decisions can hurt your team.

Finally , a breath of fresh air in this thread of who has the biggest
dick. It seems increasingly , games are being lost over a moron dropping his
cool because he felt disrespected .... and how many times have you
seen the guy with that second responding action be the one who's
penalized.

Saying “they hired Oats because of Bruce” is dumb. If final fours mattered with the hire, Byrne would’ve gone Matta or someone who had been to one.

Alabama took a risky gamble with hiring Oats and it’s paid off big time. Many here laughed at the hire in 2019 based on lack of results. “He won with Hurley’s players.”
