Didn't Frank Thomas coach under Knute Rockne at Notre Dame before coming to Bama? Wallace Wade was a boss.

I think he at least played for him. Rockne said Thomas had the best football mind of anyone he ever coached.

If Tubs has a tad of success at Cincy, he might have a small chance at making the Hall as well. If he falls on his face at Cincy, he's definitely on the outside looking in.
Bama currently has four head coaches in the Hall. Will be five a few years down the road after Saban retires. So currently tied with AU at four.
Anyone else in the SEC that can match up to Auburn and Bama in CFHoF coaches?

If I'm not mistaken, I think LSU has 5 former head coaches in the CFHoF ( don't ask me to name them though).

He brought us out of the hole Fat Bradstard Scott put us in for sure. Holtz turned it around in three years time. But then he handed the reigns over to Skippy and we were practically fawked again. Skip was horrible.
Holtz did not crack the Top Five in wins totals.

I'm thinking he's number six actually and would probably be top 5 if he didn't inherit such an awful team in 1999 that went 0-11 in his first season.
And yes we went from 1 win in 1998-1999 (1 under Scott 1 under Holtz) to 17 wins from 2000-2001. Kind of fell off after that with some 5 win seasons and finished his career here with a 6-6 record but he did help recruit Spurrier here.
And his victories over Ohio St. are still some of the more memorable ones in Gamecock lore.

I am not a fan of how Meyer left and his behavior since, but he is without a doubt either #1 or #2 on this list.
