I mean, he was an alternate for the US Olympic track team
I remember showing an Ohio State fan who claimed Archie Griffin was better the clip of Herschel running 76 yards against South Carolina in 1980, in which he flat outruns two Carolina defenders on the sideline and walks into the end zone. Dde couldn't help but admit defeat because of said evidence

Those two are clearly the best, the question is who comes in the class behind them?
Cadillac and Ronnie Brown?
Emmitt Smith?
Shaun Alexander?

Zip,nada, cero, none, squat. There are some in their league but not from the SEC.
I would put McFadden as #3 and head of the next tier.

i believe #3 would be Billy Cannon from Lsu

A Shaun Alexander that maybe would have stayed a bit healthier through his pro career. But there is still an if there. He was a freak.

I've never personally liked the guy but Emmitt was just as good as Bo in college. Unfortunately for him he played on some horrific teams.

Bo and Herschel are the best...none really are in the same league.
Exactly...and they are way out in front. I have been a Bama fan my entire life but I loved Bo Jackson. I use to just like to watch him carry the ball because you never knew what might happen.
Everybody loved Bo.

Hers...wait,

I'll give you Herschel Walker as #1. Bo as #2.
Oh. Ok, then there are none. Those were the top 2 in SEC history and there really isn't a debate.
Herschel
Bo
Everyone else.

Emmit? Oh please. The guy was smart, efficient and durable...always falling forward, never taking a solid shot. He may be the best ever AT THAT. He is not in the conversation of best RB in SEC history.

Or get injured and come out of the game. Herschel dislocated his shoulder in the national championship game against ND. They popped it back in place at halftime and he still ran for 150 and 2 TDs. A hurt thumb took Bo out of games.

Yea Bo was probably the biggest pussy in sports

Please C&P where I said that. After you do, then I'll respond with a retort.

All joking aside, I always did like Walker, he was tough. I liked Emmitt for the same reason.

Funny you should mention Archie Griffin...
There was a runningback by the name of WALTER PAYTON that was a hell of a running back and imo, better than Mr. Griffin......

There has never been a better RB in the SEC than Bo Jackson- take him out of the wishbone his 1st 2 seasons and put him in the I, and there wouldnt even be a doubt between him and Walker.

Maybe Walker and that's a big maybe.
