Since Auburn moderators bow to you can you please tell them to pin the basketball recruiting thread?

Nice one . One game , win or lose , will not define DeBoer . Don’t know how long he will be ( NFL aspirations ?) at Bama but most fans were very pleased when we hired him . Home run hire IMO , especially following Saban

Deboer has more blue chippers than anyone in the country. Probably more blue chippers than one P4 conference combined. Any loss is an indictment on the staff.

This is true, especially since DeBoer has shown he can win with lesser talent.

Seems like a much better situation than the drama show on the Plains these days. The only long-term solution that comes to mind is a blindfold and a cigarette.

If Deboer can win in Washington, he can win at Bama. Right guys?

I wish that was the case but Bama knew the long termed solution when Bama hired Saban. The result of Saban generated billions of dollars of revenue for Bama, and a reaffirming of Title Town culture.

The OGs of the board was denied the chance of Bama hiring Rich Rod and for that I am butthurt. Deboer is no Saban-like hire though. Cannot just throw money at the next big name and call it a Saban-like hire. That is what LSU did and they are currently paying the piper for it.

One positive?

They'll have someone to blame when they lose at Neyland.

What a bunch of hypocrites. You people just brought in Hugh Freeze with a show cause because of name recognition. How's that working out? Not in your mind, I mean, actually on the field of play?

Maybe they haven't been elite but this narrative that BK has been "bad" at LSU is interesting.

A .742 winning percentage is pretty solid.

7 losses with Daniels and Nabors at the controls don't make sense.

They were fairly average in 2022...

Terrible defense in 2023.

Brian Kelly has won a single big game in his entire career and lost about 20.

DeBoer on the other hand has a higher win% than Saban, and has won big games with lesser talent.

BK was predictable, we'll see what happens with DeBoer.

That's definitely the glass half full view.

The glass half empty view is that DeBoer's reputation is basically built off of one good year at Washington where all of the stars aligned perfectly. Every "big game" they had (sans Michigan) was vs a team with a bad to garbage pass defense and they were an elite passing team.

A .667 winning percentage at Fresno State is solid but not especially notable, good turnaround in Year 1 at Washington but also lost to two unranked teams, doubtful that Alabama would have given him a look prior to 2023.
