Shane Matthews — first QB for the Gators under Spurrier (at least that’s how I remember it way back then).

Someone beat me to it but Connor Shaw was the first to come to mind. Quintessential college QB who consistently played above his skill level.

Any Tennessee fans remember this game?

I remember he had a really impressive preseason in the NFL but never did much else.

Casey was a damn good QB and all around great person.
Tennessee has always recruited well in California for some strange odd reason.
Maybe because we have so many Californians living in Tennessee now.
What do you remember about Clausen?

First of all , great thread. It has guys stumbling out of the
woodwork I'd forgotten 'til now.
Blake Barnett , 5-star , '6-"5 , #1 ranked QB out of California who entered his redshirt freshman year in
2016 as the starting QB..... but
lost his job before halftime to true freshman Jalen Hurts
against USC Trojans in the first game of the season.
Barnett then left the team a few weeks later and in 2017 ended up
at Arizona State where he was a backup QB. In 2018 he
transferred to the University of South Florida. In 2019 he had a
season ending injury early and end of his football career.
Lives in Ft. Meyers , Fl.

Pretty much the poster child for self sabotage. There's probably an alternate universe where he didn't make such stupid decisions and actually had a decent college career.
