Tier 1.
LSU
Alabama
Florida

Tier 2:
Georgia
Auburn
Tennessee

Tier 3:
Arkansas
South Carolina

The rest will likely always be bottom dwellers.

If Georgia had another (recent) crystal football, I'd put it in Tier 1 just because of recruiting.

For the sake of it let's say all rosters are equally set and a positive climate to build upon.

1. Florida
2. LSU
3. Georgia
4. Alabama
5. Tennessee
6. Auburn
7. Texas AM
8. Arkansas
9. South Carolina
10 Missouri
11 Ole Miss
12 Miss State
13 Kentucky
14 Vanderbilt

Current State with all jobs open

1. Alabama
2. Lsu
3. Florida
4. Georgia
5. Arkansas
6. Auburn
7. South Carolina
8. Texas AM
9. Tennessee
10 Missouri
11 Mississipi State
12 Ole Miss
13 Vanderbilt
14 Kentucky

W d e's list is the best one I've seen so far. Only I would have ole miss as a better job than state.

OM and State are virtually even at this point. As are UF and LSU. You could switch both of those and I wouldn't argue much.

Whats the criteria?

Three different rankings published this year(2011)

SI.Com

1.Texas
2.Ohio ST.
3.Oklahoma
4.Florida
5.Georgia
6.LSU
7.Bama
8.Penn St.
9.Auburn
10.Oregon

Yahoo sports

1.Florida
2.Texas
3.USC
4.Bama
5.Notre Dame
6.Ohio St.
7.Nebraska
8.Oklahoma
9.Miami
10.Michigan

(5 honarable metions= Tennessee, UGA, UCLA,FSU and Wisconsin)

Athlons

1.Texas
2.Florida
3.USC
4.Bama
5.Ohio St.
6.Oklahoma
7.FSU
8.UGA
10.LSU

You can argue all you want but everyone has a different opinion (see above) depending on criteria used. The top 20 on about everyones list are the same...just juggled around.

One thing for sure, is that NOBODY has Arkansas as a top coaching job in America. Auburn is probablly a top 10-15 job in America.

Florida, Bama, LSU and UGA are about the same. All Top 10 jobs in the country based on facilities, revenue, tradition, recruiting ability, etc..

Do you realize how stupid your argument sounds?

UGA went 6-7 last season, and WE STILL had a top 5 recruiting class. We consistently pull in top 10 classes despite underachieving. Even without a crystal ball, UGA recruits on the same level as LSU and Bama.

I'm going on where I feel the schools currently stand, not their history.

One is third place in its division the other is playing for a conference championship.

Florida - demographics and economics
Alabama - institutional commitment
LSU - no in-state competition
Georgia - underachiever
Tennessee - historic success
Texas A&M - higher if better facilities
Auburn - school management a mess
Arkansas - crappy location
South Carolina - bad history
Missouri - no football focus
Ole Miss - better than rest
Kentucky - basketball comes first
Miss State - it's friggin Starkville
Vanderbilt - private school lack of fan support

I like your list. But as a coach, it's hard to pass up in the talent monopoly in Louisiana vs competing with a very respectable auburn.
