I rank em based on how easy it is to win there, so I would say:

1) Florida
2) LSU/UGA
4) Alabama
5) A&M
6) Auburn
7) Tennessee
8) Arkansas
9) South Carolina
10) Missouri
11) MSU/Ole Miss
13) KY/Vandy

No chance in hell A&M is that high. None whatsoever.

1. LSU--geographic recruiting advantage as sole BCS school in State
2. Florida (very, very narrowly)
3. Bama (all top three very, very close)

10 years ago people would have laughed at the idea of ranking LSU in the top 3 of the SEC in the easiest to win category

A&M just needs the right coach and they would be scary as shite. Location, talent, resources? Check check, check

I did list them after Florida, LSU, UGA, and Bama... and I don't see how you can list them any lower if it is about how easy it should be to win there

Unless the university of Texas disbands, A&M is not that high.

that makes sense

after all there's no talent in Texas... I don't see how they can improve

They need their Saban or Brown or Patterson. Those are hard as hell to find but if they find one? Ugg, bad news for those of us who like A&M as an easy lay on Saturdays

It's not quite the same situation as it is in other states. It will take a long time to get the recruits to stop picking Texas over A&M if given the opportunity.

Those kids grow up wanting to play for Texas and a Texas offer is a big deal for them.

A&M being better for a few years won't change that, at least not long term.

Before dinardo and saban many if not most of the best louisiana kids were choosing FSU and Miami type schools instead of LSU

It just takes the right coach if you are in a location with recruiting advantages. These are 16-18 year old kids. They really don't remember much that happened in football more than 6 years ago

Texas aTm is a much better situation for a coach than many schools in the SEC. Despite their second fiddle status to Texas and the fact that OU takes a lot of Dallas kids, Texas aTm is truly a sleeping giant and has more upside for a coach as far as winning goes than a school like South Carolina or Tenn IMO. One thing really helping perception for those teams is the fact that the East is down right now.

Again, it's not the same. It's not like the kids all want to go to A&M but don't because they're not as good as Texas. It's that those kids grow up wanting to go to Texas. Texas has the best recruiting set up in the country by far. A talent rich state where the kids all want to play at that school. A&M having a few good years won't change that.

No they don't. Texas aTm has an enormous following in Texas. Texas certainly has the edge in recruiting but the right hire at aTm could change that overnight.

I would have to move UT way down the list because they have no in-state recruiting base.
