If any true aubie fan thinks we are top 25 much less top 10 I want to drink or smoke whatever they are.

A&M finally got an SEC win against LSU in their Super Bowl. They now have their forever coach.

Defeating a team in the sec west is a metric for determining success don’t you agree? Or are you saying playing LSU is not much of a competition?

You can’t say ha ha Aggie only beat LSU without understanding that you are diminishing the value of playing LSU

Jimbo cannot lose 4-5 games this year, and it looks like he may. He's 16-11 from 2017 and on, lost his team at FSU (they threatened to not play vs ULM if he coached) and is looking at a tough schedule this year.

7.5 mil isn’t that big of a deal for a coach that beats LSU
That’s the entire goal of your university. Proven by the rings, cups and shirts.

Congrats on your first win against us in 23 years. Gonna whip that arse this year. Restore order

Auburn is a must-win game for A&M. We stand a substantial chance of going 7-5 if we drop Auburn.

Or even 6-6. Aren't you guys like 1-5 against the MS schools over the past 3 years?

Who cares if we have to fire him? Urban is almost done with his sabbatical.

And aggy would be dumb enough to fully guarantee him a $100M contract for him to quit in 3 years when he realizes he has to play Bama and LSU every season.

Either way, someone making 7+ million a year is going to take a loss.

Gus has won the west twice and an SEC championship. I don’t think that is worth 7 million.

Jimbo needs a championship soon to be worthy of that sort of pay scale.

Jimmy Sexton has truly changed the dynamic. Guys are getting Saban money for less than Saban results.

I guess this is the world we live in, but Chizik is still living the best life. Stress free, good pay, no worries, watching ball.

Well obviously that’s the goal, shouldn’t that be everyone’s goal?

In most fields, pay follows success. In college football, it seems like pay is fear based. Fear of coach leaving for greener pastures.

At some point, if the coach wants to leave, they will leave. These ever escalating large buyout contracts are not wise. The money is paid, but the results are not known. It seems silly to me to constantly scale the pay up with even modest achievements.

He’s won a National championship

Care to list the current coaches who have built up teams and won championships along with what they earn? Jimbos pay isn’t out of line

Saban 9.5
Swinney 9.3
Fisher 7.5
Brown 3.5
Miles 2.8

Record in past five years coaching:

Miles 31-14
Fisher 36-17
Brown 32-22

Given results from the past five years, I would think Fisher should be paid closer to Brown and Miles than to Swinney and Saban.

I think he’s right where he should be.

Kirby. 6.4
Herman 6.75
Harbaugh 7.5
Malzahn 6.7

Miles and Mack are both far removed from their pinnacle of success and at small programs now
