BREAKING: Cambridge Christian OT Richard Gouraige signs his LOI with #Florida. #Gators #NSD18
Another 4 star commits on the heals of Copeland commitment. Ole Lazy Mullen must have heard your bitching and got to work signing a top 10 class.
Makes you look like a Dumbash, don't it?

The change to more athletic offensive linemen that legitimately need a year or so in his system is what will take the most time. We shite on Hevesey for 9 years, and to be fair the dude straight up shite the bed on multiple highly rated OL recruits. Specifically Dion Mix and Scott Lashley, kids who grew up state fans and were stone cold locks. He blew up and dropped one too many F-Bombs on Mix for taking a visit to UCLA, Gus and Freeze both played the good old christian man angle and he flipped to Auburn. Then with Lashley they literally just ignored the kid because they thought he was a lock, all it took was some love from Saban and he was on his way to T town. That being said, Hev is an outrageously good coach. He will take whatever you have and they will absolutely manhandle front 7's. There is a lot of movement and the schemes are complex though, which takes time to install. So it's easy to rip on him for poor recruiting but you will be absolutely satisfied with the product on the field.
In regard to QB's, people quickly forget that he was literally having to cherry pick guys based on leadership qualities and athletic ability. Both Dak and Fitz had to be taught basic throwing mechanics. He didn't start bringing in elite QB talent until two years ago when everyone realized he will put you in the league.
The other thing is Mullen's goal of having 10+ guys catching TD passes, it takes a few classes to develop that type of depth in your route runners. Frankly State never fully got to that point because of recruiting hurdles, we had a grand total of two 4* WR's that I remember in 9 years, that problem doesn't exist at UF.
You will compete, he was competing with top 25 classes, it's foolish to think he won't do better with top 10's. It probably won't be in year one, but I can promise you a relatively small talent gap isn't enough for UGA or anyone else to run away from him. But you're also going to lose some frustrating recruiting battles.

Why are you so constantly miserable? This is a good transition class.

Florida had 3 of the best OLs in the country that were UF leans the whole process. UF only got 1 of them.
FSU is likely to finish hire than UF and they have Blackelwain as a head coach.

Rumors is that Hevesy did something similar while visiting NPF. I hope he is as good of a coach as you say. Tired of watching "5*" OLs get torched.
At WR, he has already recruited 2 4*s and picked up Jefferson and Grimes as transfers.

Man you would not guess that Gators were on top of CFB a decade ago the way you guys are making excuses for a mediocre recruiter

Yep, about the 5th or 6th time he runs the QB up the right tackle’s butt for no gain on 3rd and 4, you’ll realize he’s not really trying to set something up, that’s really all he’s going to do.

That means literally nothing given the state of our program lmao.
You dipshits are doing the same mental gymnastics VOLS were doing torwards the end of Fulmer’s tenure - Butch’s first few years.

So we should be freaking out that we missed on a few guys and only have the 14th class overall in a transition year? Ok
I doubt Mullen will be able to recruit at a Kirby or even a Taggart level over the next few years but we knew that when we hired him. If we don't have a Top 10 class next year then it'll be fair to start freaking out. But for now, I'm satisfied with a class with a Top 100 QB that's loaded at the skill positions

What I would look at is how Mullen did on recruits that weren't committed to UF prior to his hiring. It's much easier to keep a recruit that's already committed than to recruit a new one.

He stole Emory Jones away from OSU in like his second week
I don't expect consistent Top 3 classes but the hope is that Mullen will be able to play up with Top 10 classes at UF like he was able to play up with Top 30 classes at MSU

We're 4th in the SEC in a transition class with only 19 players. What on Earth are you talking about, TJ?
This isn't even including Van Jefferson or Trevon Grimes. We might also get another recruit before it's all said and done.
That's not incredible, but it's at the very least impressive.
