LSU has officially accepted mediocrity. What a sad state of affairs for once a proud program. I guess Saban’s work could only last so long.

He’s done an ok job and is recruiting well. No point in hiring some unproven coach at this point to try and catch Saban. Better to stay steady and wait things out for 6-7 years when Saban retires.

I think O is doing pretty good. LSU should be set up nicely for a serious run at the title in 2019 returning everyone and a navigable schedule.
Hopefully the buyout for 2020 and 2021 is reasonable and doesn’t “tie our hands” if things do go South.

Ed was a very affordable 17.5 M over 5 years. They’re now ripping it up. He’ll easily get 5 years 25 M and I wouldn’t be shocked if it was more of that as well. With the new buyout LSU won’t be able to buy him out until at least 2021.

why are so fricking worried about LSU. This expansion is because of the belief that a coach needs at least 4 years on his contract to recruit. We have known this was coming for a few months now.
