Ben Malena

Christine Michael was supposed to be the strength of the TAMU backfield this year, with freshman phenom Trey Williams has his primary backup. But Malena has done yeoman's work carrying the load during Michael's suspensions and showing Williams how to pass block by example.

Clowney could probably step in and start for 90% of NFL teams, right now.

Seriously, I would have to say this kid...

Jordan Matthews

One of the best receivers in the league that nobody is talking about.

For LSU, I'd say Jeremy Hill. Due to the way LSU uses their stable of backs, he likely won't ever have the numbers, but the kid is a stud. Has the size, vision, and break away speed combo that LSU has really lacked in a single back.

Also a very solid choice. He has stepped up the way Kelvin Sheppard did his last year here.

Then what could Moore do cause Moore is obviously better right now.

And Tbird we will have to disagree here. Trey, as good as he is, is still a Freshman. Ben was always slated as the #2 behind CMike, especially after how he stepped in after Gray went down last year.

But you are right, because of JFF Malena's very solid season is under ratted.

Note that every other post has mentioned a player and hasn't downgraded another player

WTF is it with needing to knock another player to "prove" your point?

Moore and Jarvis Jones are the only SEC players in the top 10 in BOTH TFL and Sacks, no other SEC player is in the top 10 in EITHER category.

Clowney is 4th in TFL and tied for 5th in Sacks. Wth are you smoking?

I am taking a guess you are looking at totals not per game numbers as reported by NCAA?

it took some deciphering to understand his post but he means moore and jones are in the top 10 nationally in those stats. no other sec player is in the top 10 nationally.

Perhaps my memory's a little fuzzy, then. I do know that CMike and TDubs got far more ink than Malena, though.

Most definitely, you had in Cmike one of the best RBs in the nation and Trey one of the most highly recruited RBs in the nation, they were causing a lot of hype and were getting much more pub than Malena was. That just adds to how under appreciated Malena was/is.

Your link is going by TFL per game

Bottom line is Clowney has 8 solo sacks, Moore has 9. Clowney has 13 solo TFL, Moore has 15.

Clowney is mediocre but because of the recruiting hype surrounding him he get all the pub when Moore is hands down the better performer this year.
