08 for Georgia? Didn't realize it was so long. Is that when Polk coached?
Posted on 6/9/25 at 5:49 am to HOG92
If it was, Missouri would suck at that, too

I didn’t realize it had been that long either. Perno was coaching.

The corrections are giving multiple teams more than one "most recent" appearance?

Clemson owns the state in all sports except women’s bball. Coastal making two trips to Omaha since USCs last appearance proves there’s enough talent in the area for the gamecocks to get it done, they just haven’t had the right people in place for over a decade.

Why are they in the SEC?

We wanted to let some others catch up. That is just good southern hospitality.
The craziest thing is that despite being pretty uncompetitive for the last 25 years, Alabama is tied for 2nd for SEC tourney wins with 7 (LSU #1 w/ 12) in third place for regular season championships with 14 (LSU #1 w/ 18), and 4th in SEC wins with 1012 (Florida #1 w/ 1092).

LSU broke the Alabama baseball program

This is objectively untrue.
But hey, keep repeating it often enough.

SC’s worship of Ray Tanner … and perhaps rightfully so…ended up biting them.
Making him the AD set them back.
Plenty of talent in SC for Clemson, USC, and Coastal to thrive.

I can go with that. 1997 season was to Alabama baseball what the 2011 season was to LSU football.
Best regular season in school history....ranked #1 with the #1 overall seed going into the regionals and College World Series. Dominated a very strong LSU team during the regular season series which included a 28-2 win only to lose to LSU in a rematch in the national championship game in Omaha.
Best hitter and overall player (Roberto Vaz) breaks his ankle in a freak accident stepping on a baseball before the game starts. LSU scores 7 runs in the Top of the 1st inning and the game is over before we even come up to bat in the bottom of the 1st. Basically the baseball version of the 2011 football season and 2011 national championship game in reverse.
