Got destroyed in the cotton bowl

There's no way he should have lost 3 games with all that talent
True enough. But he's done "better than expected" in some years too. 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007 all come to mind. He's not the perfect coach, but he's won 80% of his games, 2 SEC Championships, 6 bowl games (2 BCS) and has kicked the ever loving shite out of GT 7/8s of the time. He's a great coach and we're glad to have him.
And if his next 8 years are like his first he'll be consider one of the best ever in the SEC.

Les Miles
*Yes I'm trying to be an a-hole*
No really, it's Spurrier.

Too bad gailey is gone now.

RICHT IS a good coach. His all time record should show this.
Losing 3 games with all the talent and hype UGA had though is almost inexcusable.
Escpecially that blackout game, man that must have been embarassing oh and the 39 point loss to Tebow and pals.

GT coaches come..GT coaches go..UGA keeps kicking your arse.
You know it's coming. You better squeeze whatever joy you can out of this year there aren't many like it for GT fans.

Wait wait wait. UGA keeps kicking our arse? That's funny because PJ won in his first year.

Who is it? I think petrino or richt.
I think they're both good coaches. Richt is going to be seen as flawed until he wins a national championship. Petrino is a good coach regardless of the moral issues that people want to talk about.
Les, Urban, Spurrier, and Saban have done great stuff. BJ and RB don't get much hype but have been good at Vandy and Kentucky. Nutt has had down seasons but is SEC tested. DM hasn't done anything at MSU but isn't hyped going in. Chiz can't be overrated since most people take him to be a nobody due to his tenure at ISU.
I would say Kiffin has to be the overrated guy right now. He gets ten times the hype than his resume would dictate. He may live up to the hype however for a guy that hasn't done much he's always making news.

Les Miles does less with more talent than anyone in the conference
4 years at LSU he has been to 2 SEC champioships and won one. 4 - 0 in bowls including a sugar bowl win and a National Championship.
Against Urban Meyer, who is considered the best coach in the country, he is 2 - 2.
Not bad. He gets the rating he deserves

Now I know you didn't expect some of the fans that said Miles to use logic in their answers now did you?

Overated is a term that is relavent, only to ones personal opinions, so, here are my opinions.
Houston Nutt - I think he is motivater. He gets his guys up to play for certain games and falls flat for the rest of them. Comes up with an awsome game plan at least twice a year, though.
Les Miles - It does not matter who was the coach of the 05 tigers, no one could have done a better job, under those circumstances, than he did. I'll say this, he gives the Tigers a unique personallity.
Urban Myer - has surprised me the most. I did not think bringing that spread Offense into the SEC was going to work against SEC defenses. WRONG! It could have something to do with the right QB at the right time.
Mark Richt - Damned good football coach, just unfortunate timing, like 04 Auburn. Could easily have a championship if the cards had fallen a little different, or if he wasn't in the SEC.
Steve Spurrier - I wouldn't say overrated, did anyone really expect him to take S. Carolina to SEC prominence, other than Game Cock fans.
Nick Saban - A love/hate relationship with LSU fans. They are struggling with what he has done FOR LSU, and what he has done TO LSU. Anyhow, great recruitor, great program builder and a great defensive mind. He is a great fit at Alabama.
Bobby Patrino - He would be my pick as most overated. An awful lot of hype for dominating the Big East, although, he did do it with Louisville, so, the jury is still out.
Rich Brook and Bobby Johnson - Not considered worth rating in most peoples minds. I would say they have each had impressive seasons at Kentucky and Vandy.
Kiffin, Chizik and Mullen - Of course, you can't rate these guys. Their resumes appear impressive, only time will tell.
I think part of the SECs recent dominance is due to the collection of theses guys.
So, who is the most Overated, Come on!

Ross, what a wonderful post. Brought tears to my eyes knowing someone else likes to do the exact same thing to the gumps as I do.

Richt is 7-1 against you piss jacket. If he is overrated then that speaks volumes about your shitty football program over in the flats doesn't it?
