Alabama - Wimp Sanderson slapping his mistress/secretary and getting fired. Or.... Mike Dubose slapping his mistress/secretary and then going 3-8 and getting fired and leaving Memphis recruiting in shambles for Alabama.
Auburn -Eric Ramsey scandal with Larry Blakeney’s “Keep it down home, cuz!” telephone call that was splashed all over “60 Minutes.”

I’d put that behind the Means scandal and Gene Stallings getting screwed over
I'd put both behind Wimp and his strong pimp hand.

Petrino's crash certainly was a bigger deal for the football program.
But the Ted Harrod scandal was worse for all athletic programs overall
The best basketball coach Arkansas has ever had screaming racism. Honorable mention at least.

Yes, but wasnt nearly as big as the steroids thing. The AD had to resign after the steroids article in Sports Illustrated.

Auburn's AD got caught playing with his peter.

Gotta admit I don't remember any incident like this.
Allen Greene
Jay Jacobs
David Housel
Mike Lude
Pat Dye
Unless I'm missing someone, these are the Auburn ADs since 1980. I don't recall any of them being involved in any such scandal. The closest was Dye losing his pants on Lake Martin only to have them wash up and get found with the wallet still in the pocket 20 years later.
I do, however, remember UGA's athletic director getting arrested for DUI with a sloot in the front passenger seat and her panties in his lap.

You think we was gonna let auburn out do us? It's the Deep South's oldest rivalry for Pete's sake.

You still haven't explained your Auburn AD claim.

Texas A&M’s Dennis Franchione resigned a couple months after the public learned he was selling inside information about his team.
A dozen of A&M’s boosters paid $1,200 a year for the "VIP Connection," a regular newsletter with Franchione’s assessment of players, including injuries, written by an athletic department assistant. The head coach never disclosed this to the A&M press, stating that it wasn’t "policy."
Franchione made subscribers sign a confidentiality agreement and said he doesn't believe any of the inside information was used for gambling, the San Antonio Express-News reported Friday after obtaining a copy of the newsletter through a "third-party source."
"We asked them to sign something," Franchione told the newspaper. "And for them not to do that. Most of these people are tremendously loyal Aggies."
It’s against NCAA rules to not report "athletically related income and benefits from sources outside the institution." It was unclear if Franchione had done so.
Franchione claimed it "came about as an extension of trying to keep some dedicated and loyal fans updated throughout the year on the football program."
"There was no intent to deceive anyone," he said. "I thought this was another avenue of trying to keep some of our top donors informed."
The contents may have been used for gambling purposes, to say the least.

What AD or are you just sharing your personal fantasy?
Posted on 5/28/21 at 6:48 pm to Ted2010
It's definitely Ramsey for Auburn.
The Cam stuff was a joke and still makes me smile when I see idiots posting about it.
Ironically, in 2010 the SEC title game and the BCS title game had teams in them who were breaking the rules but Auburn wasn't the team either time. Both USCe and Oregon received sanctions from violations that involved the 2010 teams.

I think Chizik having 5 players arrested for armed robbery was pretty significant

The test taking tutors isn’t even top five of my lifetime.
We went to the freaking Final Four in basketball and had to fire the coach the next season because he got a prominent boosters daughter, that was on the dance team, pregnant.
We had a baseball coach texting the football recruiting director from the dugout on opening weekend and had to fire him.
Arizona Western Community College.
Renardo Sidney. He was being paid so much that getting in a fight with a teammate on ESPN did nothing.
Dontae Walker walked off the field during a football game and went and sold drugs. We literally signed the No. 1 football player in the nation so he could stay close to his drug trade.
We lost a bidding war for Cam Newton.
My personal favorite is getting Leo Lewis to take money from Ole Miss and then signing with us and singing to the NCAA. You have to respect Mullen for that one if you are being honest.
But sure, a cleat chaser student tutor taking an online class for a few football players is the most memorable.

Fran's newsletter was great but the Dickerson Trans-Am was the best.
I read we only made the down-payment on it and SMU had to step in and help with the payments.
Apparently it was called the Trans-A&M.
People forget that Jackie Sherrill was forced out due to his "aggressive recruitment" of Kyler Murray's dad Kevin. Kevin Murray got taken to federal court by the Milwaukee Brewers organization

quote:
Murray was a talented multi-sport star at North Dallas High School. So much so that he had Divisoin I recruiting offers in football and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in baseball. Murray signed a letter of intent with the Texas A&M but later decided to take Milwaukee's $35,000 signing bonus and head off to rookie ball. A few months later, he'd had enough of Big League Chew and opted to go back to football and A&M.
Now the Brewers were pissed that their rookie was breaking his contract, so pissed that they took Murray to Federal Court on a breach of contract claim. A Brewers official dropped the first hint that Murray's recruitment to A&M might not be on the up and up when he testified that Murray had received $200 per week during his senior year at North Dallas and a Buick Regal. Murray said the claims were false. A Federal Judge ruled that Murray hadn't breached his contract by leaving early and Murray headed for College Station.
In the fall of 1983 Murray arrived on the A&M campus. A few months later he was driving a brand new white 300ZX, not a Buick Regal.
