MSU vs. LSU 2009......also know as "The One Chance"
That deflected ball was insane. One of the best plays I've ever seen a defender make. That game was over if it gets past him

So again, another thread started by an Alabama fan designed to rile up LSU fans. And,of course once LSU fans respond their will be a chorus of "Bama obsessed" or if it doesn't work as intended the good ol, "wow,he reeled you in".
Brilliant.

Its definitely 11, not 12, but I thought the controversy for the 12 men was before this play. this play was the trapped ball controversy
I vaguely recall that now - remembering the game, but just barely.
It might've been a trapped ball... I don't remember the game well enough and the replay is too grainy to REALLY tell. It's possible, but not enough there to overturn the call on the field. If it had been called a trapped ball on the field, pretty sure the same would've held true.
Certainly a tough call for a ref to make at full speed, considering how hard it is to see one way or the other now.

There's been a couple of Bama/Arky games where Arky has gotten away with 12 men on the field.
This one still gets me.

LSU vs. AL in 2011
OM vs. UF in 2008

UGA vs. AL in 2008
TAMU vs. AL in 2012
Auburn vs. AL in 2010

Yes the ball was tipped but after doucet was wrapped at the ankles and hit. Just mind blowing that they actually made the call then changed it

I haven't revisited that 04 AU/LSU game, but that's how I remember it happening.

If refs get the Aaron Murray call correct in AU-UGA 2013, there is no controversy and no miracle.

Except that doesnt matter. Play was called correctly, this was even further proven this past NFL season. There was a big thread on the MSB, that proved it, with several referees saying so .

I don't believe many of you know what infamous means...
LSU -Tenn with too many men was infamous.
Bama - Tenn when Cody took off his helmet was infamous

It was, but the corner already had his arms wrapped around the receiver's legs.
More than that though is the fact that its the only time Ive ever seen the refs row a flag, actually announce the penalty, move to reset the ball and only THEN overturn the call. It definitely looked shady in real time.
As the rule is supposed to be interpreted, it was PI. However, that receiver wasn't catching the ball regardless. There were actually a few legit PI calls committed by Auburn that the refs missed earlier in the game. I recall an LSU receiver getting mugged in the endzone. I'm not sure if you could see it on the TV broadcast, though.

There was no view that showed conclusively that he didn't make it.
I have wondered about this scenario though. IIRC, UGA still had 3 timeouts and would have had Auburn pinned on the half yard line with about 1:45 left. The game would have still been far from over with the way UGA was moving the ball.
