The never-ending "your fans suck more than our fans" thread.

Congrats to you. Serve well.
My recommendation is to read books by authors who were lieutenants when the story occurred. From my perspective, "Platoon Leader" by James McDonough sets the standard. "The Only War We Had" by Michael Lee Lanning is a classic as well. A modern day equivalent would be "Not a Good Day to Die" by Sean Naylor.
Understanding leadership at the platoon level is the key for your next six years. Bottom line, you are there to set the standard in chaotic and dangerous times. The book "Four Hours in My Lai" shows what happens when a leader fails to lead.

Hands down: The Auburn Tigers, Plainsmen, War Eagles or whatever other mascots they might choose. They even make the Gumps tolerable.

LSU must have an introductory course for students on this. For whatever reason they are the only ones who like to pull out the plainsmen thing. I rarely even hear that from any other fanbase.

Pull it out of where? Isn't it the name of the student run newspaper? Isn't "Plainsman Park" the name of the baseball stadium?

no question about it. although mostly warranted, i believe ardently that we have worse reputation than we actually deserve.
*from the end of the off season until a week or two ago i'd say Arkansas got the nod for the board*
