I remember when I could afford to eat out. When is the city starting the bread lines?

10-4. We are low in the freezer, anyway. Sounds like a good reason to fry some fish, onion rings, pickles, hush puppies, and jalapeños this weekend.

I won't sleep now thinking about all that good food. Everything you named I love. Jalapenos are good with everything!

Is that fried okra in the back? If so, that's the most perfect meal.

Gonna have to get them arteries checked next week.

Re: okra. That’s one thing I’ve never fried, though I love it. I may try it this weekend.

Everything has gone up. Groceries, restaurants, gas, everything. Shapley's has always been pricey although I do believe they've gone up too since before I moved back. Three of us ate there several months ago and the bill was over $300.00 , of course we did have appetizers and they had wine. So yeah, it ain't cheap but damn can they do a steak!

I've never fried okra either. Fry a turkey outside but that's about it. If we're gonna do fried then we go out to eat. Makes the entire house smell for days when you fry yourself.

I think next year I’m going to have to find someone to swap salmon fillets for catfish/crappie fillets.

We have the poor man’s lobster here (burbot). Planning on putting out a few set lines this weekend.
