Nothing wrong with conferences being transparent with all their finances. The way the Pac-12 crumbled was food for thought.

Last season the Pac-12 received 603 million in revenue and the Big 12 received 510 million for the same year. Almost 100 million more. Yet each team in the Big 12 received 44.2 million and each team in the Pac-12 received 33.6 million. Over 10 million less per team even though they brought in 100 million more.

Larry Scott, the Pac-12 Commish, in 2009, took out an interest-free, 1.8 million dollar home loan with the Pac-12. He has yet to make a payment and it all comes due June 1.

Conferences should show their work, don't you think?

WHAT does ACC's contract with ESPN have to do with Clemson?

That's like suing a car dealership for a copy of their contact with the manufacturer.

Things looking grim for the ACC.

According to tOSU fans on this board, national conferences are the future... Wonder how their argument will shift when a national conference collapses.

Yet not many people want MORE conferences.

I still miss the old conferences and traditional rivalries. That's what made college football so special.

I hated the big xii, but loved the old Big 8.
If I was king for a day, I'd bring back the Big 8, 11 team Big Ten, 12 team SEC, Pac-10 + Utah and BYU, ACC, SWC sans Arkansas (they could pick up another TX school) and Big East.

You could say some of the old Big East teams were shite and not make that conference viable, but you could replace Temple with UCF and it would be cool.

Everyone else can be in the MAC, Sunbelt, or C-USA or whatever.

Rose Bowl
PAC 10 vs B1G 11

Cotton Bowl
SWC vs Big 8

Sugar Bowl
SEC vs At Large

Orange Bowl
ACC vs Big East

the 4 Winners play in the playoffs..

eta: I don't love the idea of this at this point as I'd rather be in the SEC.. but something like this is what should have been done way back when..

The thing that ruined the Big 12 has followed you to the SEC.

ESPN was in bed with the SEC long before Nebraska left the Big 12.
