100k seating with no 12th Man TV?
Scrap it - back to the drawring berd.
Will there be banners for our mythical conference championships?

You laugh (and you're right to) but 30+ years later I still avoid walking on grass.

Did A&M always have the one side with the overhang? Is it to block the sun or something? These renderings look great by the way.

No there is no overhang currently and the one in the pictures is still just an idea, not official.

There are no current overhangs but they are definitely putting one on the West Deck because it will shade all the most expensive seats very effectively. They are considering adding more shades around the stadium less for the sun and more for keeping in the noise and for continuity. An overhang on the East Deck wouldn't really shade anyone unless we start playing games at 8AM.
Honestly the most important pics are the interior ones. Right now A&M has absolutely crappy luxury seating. There are some very expensive 40 yard seats on the 2nd Deck with old concrete and a cheap bench with open air and small concourses and trough urinals. It's crazy, but they have just been so limited because of infrastructure. Why this matters is A&M hasn't been able to offer a "whale" experience worth a damn outside of a few areas and this is especially true to the corporation that isn't necessarily tied to A&M. There is a ton of money in Houston that would buy luxury seating at Kyle if it had a decent "luxury" experience that you can get at Reliant. The new Kyle will likely come just short of Cowboys Stadium on the luxury end and blow Reliant away.
It also is going to put A&M well ahead of Texas in the same categories and put us in a conversation with Bama as to which is the best. That's the goal. I have little doubt the renovations to Tiger Stadium will be comparable and the rest of the SEC will keep up. The key is the SEC is just putting itself farther and farther ahead of the pack.

It will be better than Bama.

I agree but who is "best" will always be subjective. Bama will be more symmetrical and have more impressive statues and memorials because of their history for instance. Though FWIW they are going to put up a TON of new statues around Kyle with different themes but they will mean more to Aggies and not necessarily a generic college football fan.
In terms of quality of amenities and such it will be the best in college football but that is always a moving target. Someone else will top it a few years later, likely someone from the SEC. Nature of the beast. The real key is it will force A&M to be a part of any conversation of "best stadium" for quite a while.
For Aggies it will be a giant place to fap about, no telling how many jars will be filled.

Agreed, and with how massive the concourses, and the structure itself is, they have a lot of space to play around with in the future. I'm also very curious if they are going to help spence park out and level the ground to allow for more scenic tailgating. If they are pushing the stadium that close to the street, I would hope we could get some really nice landscaping to match it in the closest tailgating area to the stadium. Make the Grove look silly for even trying.
