Weird, you are the first LSU fan of many in this thread to mention Deng Deng who is listed in the OP's link, as not part of the class.
Not going to qualify academically or what?
It's been said for a long time now Deng Deng is not part of the class. He hasn't signed, the OP is a list of commitments, not a list of signees, from November of last year. Deng is not going to sign because he hasn't lived up to expectations, plus, the coaches I believe wanted him to come in sooner than he would be able to.
We only have 1 JUCO, John Odo, who was the leading rebounder in all of JUCO last season, right in front of Coty Clarke. Since you can relate to that

On every site Jarrell is rated higher than Portis
True, usually by a spot, I think Martin is 24 on 247 and Portis is 25, and on ESPN Martin is 16 and Portis is 17. Pretty much as even as it gets.

Mickey and Kingsley are rated right in the same area
Yeah, pretty close there, 247 is really high on Kingsley having him at #29, so hopefully that holds true.

I agree that the two guys you currently have signed are very good, but don't act like our guys are scrubs. We'll see who was right in the coming years, this is certainly not an exact science.
Just a dumb troll thread in general, especially when classes aren't done, we're going to take at least 1 more player possibly 2.

And I think 2nd in blocks, too.

And Clarke was a fricking beast this year, really turned the corner about midway into SEC play and usually in basketball JUCO's don't contribute much till their 2nd year.

Odo has actually been enrolled and has practiced with the team this semester so, hopefully for us, this process is accelerated.

Marcus Thornton was pretty good for us both years. Usually we only go after a JUCO if we want them to contribute their first years. Odo enrolled and joined the team this January, and he took a redshirt so we didn't waste 1 of this 2 years playing left on just half a season this year. He should be really familiar with everything for next season since he's been practicing with the team since January. He is slated to be the starting center at 6'10, was #1 in JUCO in rebounding and Top 5 I believe in blocks. That's what we'll ask him to do next year basically as the scoring will come from everywhere else.

Yeah Thornton was a pretty rare specimen though and has had a pretty good NBA career.
Didn't know he enrolled early, could be a big advantage in his development, although you can't replicate game action and adjusting to the influx in talent between JUCO and D1, learning the scheme and play style will help.

So let me get this straight.
A "non basketball school" (LSU) has proven on the court over the last few years (if you think the actual games played count in an evaluation) is a better program than the alleged "basketball and track" school (Arky high) ..... And the basketball/track school fans are trying to prove other wise by ignoring the critical measurement factors.
Say it ain't so!

Portis > Martin
A case could be made.....although I think Martin projects better for the future.....as in I think he makes a helluva lot more money in the NBA.

Kingsley > rest of your class
This is just sheer idiocy.

Funny you pointed that out, because Arkansas is ranked 17th with just 2 commits. Lsu is 6th but you have 5 commits.

I don't know which class will be the best in the end, time will tell but I do know that baton rouge is and will continue to be a shithole of a place to live.

Arkansas fans only start threads about LSU you guys.

That is one thing that Baton Rouge has in common with the whole state of Arkansas.

Basketball recruiting...this is what we are arguing about.

Indeed....but living in Little Rock would be so much worse than living in BR...but Fayetteville crushes BR.
Although Arkansas has no places that compare to NOLA and Lafayette....not even a little bit.

Come on now it wasn't that long ago that Arkansas was a force in college basketball...have you guys let greatness get away and accepted being at LSU's level already?
