That's actually good news because I met Speedy and his family on the camp circuit when I was accompanying my 2 nephews a few yeas ago. He seemed like a good kid. Anyone who paid just a little bit of attention to recruiting knew Speedy was a long shot about a month before signing day. Maybe even longer. He was enamored with A&M and the Manziel offense. Sumlin's pitch was he would get a shot at QB and that's all Speedy needed to hear. Glad to hear his name seems to be cleared and hope the A&M guys just realize that most of us are good people here.

With all of the grief we give each other on here, I haven't met an LSU fan irl that I wouldn't have a drink and shoot the shite with.
Honestly both fanbases are so similar in temperament (especially online) that I think the familiarity breeds contempt more than anything

I can agree with this, TBH I haven't met one SEC fan base IRL that I didn't get along with.. Now moving to other conferences *cough* big ten *cough*.. thats a whole different story.

Absolutely. I'm a Michigan fan as well, and the only other fan base I can stand is Penn State, tbh.
I hated or was completely indifferent to all of the other big12 fanbases.

Michiganders aren't mad, I used to live in Toledo for a little while.. it's the OSU fans that are unbearable.

Three fan bases, in particular, were intolerable "on the field," and IRL.

Truth. I've met one or two asses (usually just drunks) but as a whole SEC fans are the best. Ironically, even though Arky and LSU have a bad rep on the rant every IRL fan I've met associated with each school has been an absolute blast.
To toot our own horns we've simply got great IRL interaction as a conference and I haven't encountered another group that comes close - fan bases yes but as a group other conferences tend to hate each other IRL in ways I just don't understand (I'm spoiled by ours, I guess).

Don't get me started on ohio fans
Michigan has some annoying, elitist fans too, I can admit, though. Typically more arrogant than plain obnoxious like osu fans.

UNC and VA Tech fans are no better. UNC is the worst I've dealt with, and Tech fans act like they have the football history of a Bama or Michigan.

I hate admitting this because I know it's stereotyping them the same way the South gets stereotyped but a lot of Ohio and Michigan peeps (not all just some) have mannerisms and nasally accents that drive me up the wall and I'm not even some super-Southerner. Combining that with mean-spirited or obnoxiousness fans is something that I don't think I could take.
I know this is a cultural thing (aside from the fan reps they have) but I can't help it. It's like nails on a chalkboard. Jersey and NYC sound better to me than certain OH/MI accents.

you hit the nail on the head. i hated living up there. In the south, you can pretty much have a conversation with anyone. You can just meet someone, and already feel like you're best friends.. up north everyone is cold, and they have this feeling about them that they're elitist.

The most arrogant fan base I've ever come into contact with is by far and away Notre Dame. In the days leading up to the '06 Sugar Bowl I don't remember coming across a single ND fan that didn't think LSU should've been kissing their feet for the honor of playing them. Then Jamarcus proceeded to roll them the frick out of the Dome like cheap trash.

He's a 58 year old who lives in Trenton, New Jersey and marches every year in the Irish pride parade. He has never been to Ireland -- in fact, his family has now been in the country for over 250 years -- but damn it, he's proud of his Irish heritage. Of course the only element of his Irish heritage that he has embraced is the part about drinking heavily and not using birth control.
He has never been west of the Alleghenies in his life, but he's "always been a huge Notre Dame fan." By "always been a huge Notre Dame fan" he means watch one game a year on average for the past 46 years. He has eight children, but can afford to take care of one. His preferred method of birth control -- other than his personality -- is the pull-out method and he thinks Manti Te'o got robbed of the Heisman Trophy last year thanks to an ESPN conspiracy against Catholics.
He also thinks that you should SHUT the F--- UP about Manti's fake girlfriend. In fact, he went on ESPN's comments section and wrote this underneath the Jeremy Schaap Te'o interview: "Everbody has fake gfs! How else do you make it threw your 20's. Stop righting about Mante ESPN!"
At least once a year his confession includes the following, "Father," he'll say, "whenever Rudy Ruettiger comes on scene my penis moves."
For twenty-three consecutive years his priest, Father Riley, has replied that it's completely normal and not a sin. "There, there, Rudy makes all of our penises move," Father Riley will say.
He told each of his sons and daughters when they were born that they would go to Notre Dame. By "go to Notre Dame," he meant become cashiers at the local WaWa convenience store.
He has mistakenly believed that Notre Dame is actually in Illinois for 46 years and in 1987 he got in a fist fight when someone at O'Malley's Irish Pub compared Lou Holtz to Donald Duck.
After being arrested he did not have the money to post bail, so he spent a week in jail, during which time his oldest daughter slept with a guy who claimed to be Ron Powlus. But it might have just been a Dunkin Donuts delivery driver who looked like Ron Powlus and was pretending to be him so she's never been completely certain.
When she met him she was like, "Wait, if you're really the Ron Powlus who played for Notre Dame, why are you driving a Dunkin Donuts truck?"
And Ron Powlus said, "Because they pay better than Krispy Kreme."
His wife once caught him furiously masturbating to the movie "Rudy," but both pretend it didn't really happen.
Touchdown, Jesus!

Agreed. Every fan base has their fair share of douches though, and they seemed to be in the majority at UF

but I'm kinda glad my mom (Michigander) and Dad (Texan) both have surprisingly neutral accents that my siblings and I picked up.
I tell ya, one of my best friends I met up there was from the UP (in Michigan), and he had the strongest accent i've ever heard.. dude was a hard core outdoorsman, even moreso than anyone I've met down here in Louisiana.. but still one of the best guys I know.

The UP is weird, man

My mom is from Southwest Michigan, not too far from Chicago, actually. Grandparents still live up that way.
It's funny, it must piss UP'ers off when Michigan folks do the hand thing to show where they're from in the state

Affirmative.
Am I missing something, EKG?
The arrests were regarding May incidents. What about the July incidents? How do we know for sure that they're related, and thus that the situation is done with re football players?
Please advise. Thanks.

The two individuals arrested for the May incidents fit the description of the suspects for the July incidents. The method of the crime also fits. Moreover, the CSPD press release implied that these two are suspected of doing this other times. ("Further investigation continues...") Even more, NOBODY has corroborated Hamm's claim. It seems pretty obvious that this thing is over.
