I'd be careful about hiring Memphis Coaches, they are like hiring Boise State Coaches. Fuentes at V Tech, Norvell at FSU..not working out like you think it does a name that hasn't been on many coaching lists that might be a good fit Pat Fitzgerald he just won a big lawsuit against Northwestern he's a good coach 10 win season at the Vandy of the big 10

Should already have a list.
I’m guessing Gundy is in your guy’s. And Colin Klein wouldn’t surprise me.

Any AD worth his salt better have a list of coaches already prepared if needed.

Agreed...with that said...
Drink ain't going anywhere! Not one valid source supports his departure.

IF Mizzou has to replace Drink ( I think he stays BTW ) Veatch will go after the Memphis coach or the North TX coach. He hired Silverfield. Would make sense.
I'm not sure why Corey Batoon would not be considered. The dude has been awesome & makes Blake Baker easily forgotten. What a hire by Drink. That is not a shot at Baker necessarily, just fact.

We don't need a list, nor a committee.
It's always been Ram Rod Carey. He turned the job down before Drink got hired but now he's rested and ready.
Ram Rod in 2026.

I remember hearing our AD long ago say "Part of my job is to always have a list of names of who I would go after in every sport in case we have to make a change or I have a coach resign." The AD should never be caught completely flat footed and if they do they should not be the AD.

I think Drink is underrated. He makes some great assistant coach hires

In cases like Kiffin and Drinkwitz, when a program is being dangled over the bowels of hell by its head coach, does the AD begin to search for the next guy?
Every AD even UGA's has a "in case of emergency" list/contacts that they start channeling anytime stuff like this brews.
