Which is why a supported the kid who got kicked out of his own arena because Duke's coach complained when they played Miami @ Miami.
The kid was clever enough to bring a Conch shell to blow - hence not technically an artificial noisemaker - and The Keys are also called the Conch Republic, so it was clever. LINK The first part of the clip is SportsCenter and the second part was the response on PTI.
The irony was Duke has the rudest fans in college basketball and nobody throws them out of Cameron. Wilbon was right, if Miami had the balls they would have passed out more to their fans.

LOL yeah that's awesome on the Miami kid's part and more of what college hoops needs. Its hard to police the line between distracting and obnoxious, between loud and rude, but the corporate type front row atmosphere we've talked about that's gradually taken hold at UK, Mizzou and so many other venues is just lame.
Dug up an example of the Antlers' research and routine from the 1980s. One of Kansas State's players back then was Norris Coleman, a 24 year old who had done a military stint before enrolling at KSU, and hence Wildcat fans nicknamed him "Sarge." Sadly for Sarge, the Antlers in their digging discovered his GPA was 1.34 for the semester when he came to Columbia. The following cheer occurred in call-response whenever "Sarge" stepped to the free throw line:
I don't know but it's been said
Norris Coleman's brain is dead
I don't know but I've been told
He reads like a 3 year old.

That's the sort of stuff they gained supporters from. When they show attention to detail and aren't offensive, they are good for the sport. When they are lame and lazy and resort to bush league offensive crap, they are just building the argument that they should get the axe.

My understanding was he was blowing it after the ball left the guys hand and not before. This is the SEC so you know the routine.

As for the modern "fans" they need to disable cell phones at games during play. (see chick in yellow and white about 3 rows from the top)

super excited to be here whatever it is
frankly the more I look at this Zou Crew the clearer it is we need to really reach out to more, err, mainstream Mizzou students to get them interested in hoops. I appreciate these students' support for sure, but group photos...not a strength.
