No sweat, UK team should be a good match for Mizzou, but likely not the best they face this year. Florida could prove to be a very worthy opponent. There is also chance for Louisville and Duke in Atlantis Bowl, and will face off UCLA in noncon play. Should be a very exciting season for Mizzou fans.

UK should really own Mizzou!

This sort of logic should really reduce a lot of unnecessary games. We'll just put down an L for Kentucky and skip the trip to Lexington.

If it's a destination job and Mike Anderson is the best you could get then I'm sorry it's not a destination job

Y'all get ready to wear tampons after this saturdays game in the Swamp...it will be ugly. As for basketball....UF has been in the Elite 8 two years in a row. Suck it Mizzou.

UF has been great for about the last decade, don't know what it has to do with Mizzou though, aside from Beal going there.

Well you can see teams in the SEC have beaten UK over time but so far Missouri is not one of them.

Alabama : 102 - 36
Arkansas : 25 - 8
Auburn : 86 - 17
Florida : 93 - 33
Georgia : 115 - 25
Louisiana State : 82 - 24
Mississippi : 99 - 13
Mississippi A & M : 7 - 2 (now Mississippi State)
Mississippi State : 81 - 18
Missouri : 4 - 0
South Carolina : 46 - 10
Tennessee : 148 - 66
Texas A&M : 2 - 1
Vanderbilt : 136 - 45

You could just give UK the W but now and again you might win one so go ahead and play the games. Just saying if Kansas beat you as much as they did it will probably not get better playing the team that beats Kansas a lot.

I'm not going to say Mizzou will finish higher than Kentucky or Florida, but what is certain is that Mizzou will kick the shite out of Arkansas.

I think you may have mistakenly used the word certain in this sentence. I believe the word you are looking for is possible.

Possible implies potential for failure. In this case there is none. Anderson has a system. One he doesn't adjust to the strengths and weaknesses of his time. He can't get them prepared for road games. He has asinine substitution patterns that prevent players from getting into the flow of the game.

Haith took the strength of the team and molded it into a winner. We had one player taller than 6'6" and won 30 games.

So we will be taller than you? This doesn't sound like something a missouri fan should be pointing out as a key to success.

And an early exit at the hands of Norfolk St.

Mike Anderson took Mizzou to their ceiling, the elite 8.

Flip is a phenomenal PG. Really distributes the ball well, and so quick. If you blink, you've missed something.

Um, that was last year's team. This year's is much different.

so this isn't the team that won 30 games last year? This is more of a new team going up against another new group of players and we shouldn't rule out losing to other teams before exhibition play starts?

I'm not ruling out anything. There are now only 3 guys on the team that played for Anderson, and one of them was injured last year. A lot of new faces, and a ton of talent. But I haven't predicted anything. I'm withholding judgement until I see several games and watch the team chemistry.

very reasonable. That was more intended for some of your less reasonable fans making ridiculous statements on things way before the season starts. I haven't even seen our team yet to know what they look like. Although from the sounds of it we are going to be much improved. Should be a good season of SEC basketball which for some reason is vastly underrated on the national level. We're just a very top heavy league but it's getting more and more competitive all the time.

I understand. I'm excited about this season, and playing all the SEC teams. I expect 6-7 teams from the SEC to make the tournament this year, if everything goes like I think it will. Should be some good basketball, and I'm happy Mizzou is a part of it!

Anderson is a good coach, and I expect y'all to be improved this year. But he will probably frustrate you at times.
