Does this mean we won't have to play you fricks in football every year?
After kU, this whole artificial rivalry thing seems like too much work.

Wow, this guy creates shite threads on this board also? I guess some of the tools from Tigerboard made their way over here.

That may well be the case, but here's hoping Arkie can at least be competitive, when playing Mizzou.

What is this? the pissing match between arky and mizzou?

God this is like a couple of high schoolers in the AV Club saying how all the girls in school want them. The is the SEC baby and here you have to earn your rep on the field of battle. UK will own you until you beat them, beat them again, and beat them some more. So far I think only 1 D I school in america has a winning record against them and that was mostly due to a certain folks now gone from from the respective institutions.
Billy Clyde was the golden boy from the B12 and he washed out after 2 years at UK. It is a different world when you hit Rupp Arena and 24,000 fans are right on you. The venue has very steep sides and there are no corporate boxes so that is 24,000 who probably know more about basketball than 98% of the Mizzou fan base. I am not trying to be cocky I am just telling you the way it is.
Ask any folks on the Rant if you get an easy win with the Wildcats. It works both ways because the Dores, Hogs, Gators, Tide, Tigers, and other assorted folks have battled and come away with both sides bloodied from the fight. Coaches have played here and gone to other conferences and they will tell you the lesser basketball children in the conference will play you hard. You can talk about how tough the B12 was in basketball but look at the numbers :
Baylor : 7 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Colorado : 1 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Iowa State : 3 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Kansas : 21 L - 6 W :::: 3 NCAA banners
Kansas State : 8 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Missouri : 4 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Nebraska : 2 L - 1 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Oklahoma : 3 L - 0 W :::: 2 NCAA banners
Oklahoma A&M : 2 L - 1 W :::: 2 NCAA banners (now Oklahoma State)
Oklahoma State : 1 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Texas : 1 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Texas A&M : 2 L - 1 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
Texas Tech : 4 L - 0 W :::: 0 NCAA banners
In case this is not sinking in, that is 8 of the 12 former B12 members who have NEVER beaten the Wildcats! In simpler terms 2 out of 3 B12 teams has failed in this attempt. Of the 4 remaining teams NOT A SINGLE ONE has a winning record against UK. even mighty Kansas has only won about 1 game for every 4 times they have tried. Again, quit trolling and talk serious basketball because this is the SEC and we play for keeps.
If it helps here are some observations on UK by folks who know way more about basketball than you do!
"I just thought it was the Kentucky fans coming in." - Coach Billy Gillispie in Atlanta after a tornado slams into the Georgia Dome.
"Really, UCLA's a great place as well, but they don't have the kind of environment they have here. The fans here have a passion." - Dick Vitale on Kentucky fans, December 23, 1999.
"Apparently the University of Kentucky basketball dynasty is to continue forever." - Philadelphia Inquirer, December 23 1954.
"Kentucky has found the secret of basketball, that it's five guys playing together." - former University North Carolina coach Frank McGuire
"I see no reason to end the basketball season in February just so some of these schools can start spring football practice early... Someday they are going to wake up and realize that basketball is here to stay." - Adolph Rupp on his Southeastern Conference brethren in 1934.
"I'd just as soon freeze to death." - Actress Ashley Judd relating a story of being offered a University North Carolina - Chapel Hill jacket on a chilly movie set. - Lexington Herald Leader, August 15, 1996.
"It's not wise to come to Kentucky and try to run them off their court. Not too many teams have ever done that." - Mississippi State Coach Babe McCarthy in 1962.
"When you see Kentucky's fans, you just wonder. You think how wonderful it would be to go to their school. You wish you could trade places for a day, just so you could experience that feeling." - UCLA player Kris Johnson
And my personal favorite from one of the great basketball coaches and commentators
"They had it before you, they had it during you, they'll have it when you're gone"...." - Al McGuire on Kentucky Basketball Tradition

What the frick is the matter with you! Came in 2nd in the SEC last year. We were predicted to finish close to last. Jarnell Stokes will have something to say to you this season.

Not to mention a good recruiting class coming in with Robert Hubbs and most likely Austin Nichols.

He played at Uconn last year right. Well Stokes put 16 points 12 rebounds and 3 blocks on him. Oriaki had 5 points 7 rebounds and he fouled out. Tennessee won 60 to 57. So it is safe to say Jarnell manhandled the inside versus Oriaki.

Yeah...we should probably just give up on the season since we lost to the #2 team in the nation with a completely new roster and missing two of our best players.
