Yes. And Marcus Golden normally is the type of player who plays at Bama or LSU.
If they all came back and the 3 Jr's stayed they probably wouldn't allow a point next year.
Imagine.............Shane Ray and Marcus Golden are leaving early. Just like Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, etc.
Mizzou wins this weekend 20-17 in OT.
ROLL TIGERS!

Last year's team was better, but this team has a great defense and has at least an outside shot on Saturday.

Last year by FAAARRRRRR.
This team isn't that good. We have a decent defense. Our offense is average at best.

Everything else besides our punter and maybe pass rush was better last year
I've got to disagree.
The defensive line is better this year.
Even with Adam Griffith hurt, place kicking has been better this year (% almost the same, but Griffith produced in the clutch).
The corner back position is marginally better this year.
I'm starting to think the offensive line might be better this year, but that might be a product of Kiffin.
Punter (which you listed) is a significant difference. Mandell was good and reliable, but Scott is a legitimate weapon.

Last year:
Offense- 8
Defense- 7.5
Special Teams- 6.5
This year:
Offense- 5
Defense- 9
Special Teams- 6.5
I think overall last year's team was better because the offense has regressed more than the defense has improved. That being said, defense travels and I feel that the offense has improved enough to give Bama all it can handle.

Last year by a country mile.
I give this year's team props for finding ways to win in the 4th quarter in so many conference games, doing just enough of the little things to pull out victories. But its nowhere near as good as last year's. We all know that.

Massey ratings ranked Mizzou #3 at the end of the season; this year Mizzou is at #15. So yeah, it's even more disparate than I imagined. Kudos to this year's team to find ways to win.

I think most Mizzou fans, including myself, are just not used to having a team like this that wins with dominant defense. Despite the old saying that defense wins championships, we are used to seeing our win total year in and year out determined by the level of our offensive skill players. For the majority of the year I've found myself thinking that this team just isn't very good, based solely on the offense. But this defense is the best defense I can remember at Mizzou and they just keep winning. It isn't super flashy and there is no Maclin or Denario putting up TD after TD, but this team could argue that the importance of what their doing on defense this year could make them the better team. All I know is that I would sure like to see them put together this quality of defense with an offense like they had in 07!
