“The SEC Tournament is going to be up for bid in 2017 and 2018, which I made sure that Frank Viverito and Dave Peacock (St. Louis Sports Commission members) know. No reason why St. Louis can’t bid on having the SEC tournament here as well as the Missouri Valley Tournament.” ~Mizzou AD

If the SEC wants butts in seats they should let KY host most years. If they want to promote regional awareness I could see including cities like Dallas, STL, Atlanta, and Gainesville

Gainesville does not have a facility good enough.

yeah, Kentucky brings 85% of the people at the SEC tournament. It is ridiculous. Their fans buy up the allotment of most of the other SEC schools.

I dont see what the problem with this is. I think its a great idea. I mean its not like we are way out. The state borders 3 SEC States.

that may work considering St Louis is just down and over I-64 from Louisville and Lexington. Maybe Arkansas won't suck so much in '17 and they can bring some people, too.

The move is about $$$.

If St. Louis can bring enough $$$, let em have it. We should move all of it around more often, IMO.

And it's pretty much the same distance for Kentucky fans to travel to MO for the tourney as Atlanta, so they'd have most of the same number of fans there anyway.

I support a move to St Louis or Nola. Move these things around a bit.

The best way to get tickets to the SEC tournament is to hope UK gets eliminated early.

Tickets are available at very reasonable prices after that.

St. Louis has hosted a number of big NCAA events in recent years including both the men's and women's BB final fours, several regionals(including this year), NCAA wrestling championships, and NCAA Frozen Four. It also supports the MVC tourney pretty well as mentioned. So I have no doubt the SEC tourney would do very well there in terms of support.

They tried that in 1990 and it was a disaster. UK was on probation and couldn't participate so that didn't help, plus Florida finished dead last in the SEC and lost the first day. Two big x marks in that tourney's doom, but still...

I would love me some SEC tourney in NOLA, it's the main reason I really wish we were in the SEC this year. NOLA has to be the best place to hold a week long tournament anywhere. Here's to hoping Mizzou is in the Final Four this year and I'll get to go anyway
