I'm from STL and am a fan of KC. Never understood the pissing match.

As far as the Chiefs having a better tailgate than Mizzou, I will agree. But its unfair to compare the two when Arrowhead has a huge advantage with the parking situation. Mizzou is spread out over a number of smaller lots while Arrowhead is just one huge smoke filled party.
That sounds like a great trip!

For Friday I would sleep in then head down to the Hill for lunch. You can then go up in the Arch just to say you did it, but it's nothing too special. Hit the brewery tour then stop by a local corner bar in Soulard (by the brewery) for a few beers. Then head downtown for more beers and something to eat. Lots of places to choose from on Washington Ave which is a few blocks from the stadium.

I'm not a Chiefs fan but the folks in KC know how to tailgate. It's a great atmosphere.

Have fun!

The SEC is no slouch in college basketball no matter what the national media might try and brainwash you with.

I didn't say it was a slouch. In fact, I believe I said the opposite. And I don't believe there isn't a high caliber of play in the SEC, just that it isn't much higher, if at all, than the B12.

And by the way, damn you for making me defend that shitehole conference. I am looking ahead and can't wait to start playing in our new home.

Not trying to start a big war here, just tired of defending SEC basketball to folks with teams who do not play here year in and year out.

And we're tired of defending against statements like Mizzou won't help the quality of basketball in the SEC. There was another thread yesterday where a number of SEC fans were picking Mizzou to finish 6th or worse in the SEC next year. Yes, Mizzou blew it in the tournament this year and they haven't made it to a final four, but using tournament results as a proxy for conference play is silly.

Look, I respect the SEC and I know it is going to be a difficult league. And if some of these new coaches can turn their programs around the SEC could become one of, if not the best conference in the nation. But to act like we're walking into a much higher caliber of conference play than we're used to is not accurate. I'll accept that argument in football, but not basketball.

Graduated a lot. We get Bowers back next year along with Pressey and Dixon.

Mizzou has a lot of transfers coming in too:

Alex Oriakhi (UCONN)
Ernest Ross (Auburn)
Keion Bell (Pepperdine)
Jabari Brown (Oregon)
Tony Criswell (Juco/UAB)

We'll be fine
Yeah, there was some SEC pride last night. As others have mentioned, the Big 12 doesn't have that kind of conference pride or unity. I'm looking forward to being a part of that.

But the most important part of last night for Mizzou fans was the fact that kansas lost. I would have rooted for them to lose if they were playing the Taliban. UK beating them was just a nice bonus.
Yeah, I agree. It pains me to say anything nice about the Texas Ten but Homey, you're underestimating the mid-tier programs. OSU, KSU, and Baylor are very solid. Hell, even Iowa State will jump up and bite you now and then.

All the SEC guys keep telling us that we don't understand the "grind" that we are about to face. No question that the B12 grind is not as rough as the SEC, but it is certainly tougher than the Big East.
One of the biggest benefits of the SEC is that it will help lock down the in state kids. I'm not saying MO is as talent rich as the South but in the past Mizzou lost a LOT of the top kids to the Big 10 and other traditional powers like Nebraska and OU. But I think kids like DGB will now want to stay home and play in the best conference in the country. And hopefully we'll be able to turn the tables and steal some kids from Big 10 states as well.

You guys really think you can pull out of Georgia? Right now, UK is getting scraps and some hidden gems in the state...I just do not seeing players heading to Mizzou when they can stay closer to home.

Its going to take time and money, but Mizzou has already reassigned recruiters to GA and FLA. We won't out-recruit UGA or other top SEC schools for Georgia kids. But we didn't out-recruit Texas, OU, or TAMU for Texas kids either. We'll have to rely on those hidden gems that you mentioned. We already pulled in two TE from FLA this year. Probably not world beaters but its a start.

Just hard to have a conversation around here without some one coming in and flaming it to death.

You weren't trying to have a conversation. You were trying to get everyone riled up by saying Mizzou fans were disrespecting the SEC by using a sample size of 3 callers on some radio show in Little Rock.

Mizzou fans are extremely excited about the move to the SEC. Why? Because we know its the best, toughest, and most prestigious conference in all the land. Except for maybe a few trolls, no Mizzou fan is disrespecting the SEC or honestly thinks we're going to come in and dominate the conference.

Those aren't the real uniforms. That's just a pic of our new recruit - Bigfoot.

Just pretend you're in the nice part of Lubbock or Waco.
These are not the correct responses. Try these:

You're right, I read that wrong. Sorry about that.

As I said, the question was asked by a UGA fan earlier. I couldn't find the thread or else I would have posted it there. Just trying to help. Geez.

UGA fans coming to Mizzou

Last week a Georgia fan was on here asking for travel advice to Columbia. Today, Delta just announced direct flights from Atlanta into Columbia starting this summer. This would definitely be the most convenient route to go. Here's the link for more info:

what an awful mistake it was letting those two school in our conference. its brought nothing but headache.

Yes, I can see how St. Louis bidding on a basketball tournament to be held in five years can really be a burden to you. I bet people are jumping out of windows all over the SEC over this.
