Many times in the past, I would go into a game like this with misguided optimism. That’s the way I came into the season. The defense established themselves last year and we were returning about 80% of the production, so I was very confident in the defense coming into the season, and that may still hold. Although, as another poster pointed out, we do have some injuries impacting that defense.

With respect to the offense, my assumption was that it could only get better plus with all the positive talks from Drink, and Kirby about pushing the ball down field etc. I was starting to feel like we might have a pretty good year.

Then came two uninspiring performances against two weaker teams where the offense looked EXACTLY the same as the anemic product put on the field the prior year.

Sorry to say my optimism has dimmed and I just can’t bring it for this game. I will be in attendance, however. I hope you are right and I am wrong however.

I know playing KSU instead of the hated Jayhawks is a rather poor substitute but I hope y'all beat them like a rented mule.

This year’s team is probably a drop off from last year’s K State, but missouri was funnier than late night comedy last week

I don't guess I realized Tressel had came directly from Youngstown state, I thought he had previously been a coordinator or something at Ohio state. Lance Leipold is another example. I don't get why one of the schools i mentioned before or anyone that regularly struggle's in a bigger conference hasn't given that a shot.

I think Mizzou loses big. Either Drinkwitz goes down this season and we move on, or he completely takes his hands off the offense and IF the OC is decent we might be decent by midseason.

They have the better coach, QB and offensive line.

Our coach is a bozo and QB is D2 level at best.

We have to hope to win the turnover battle. If we don’t, kstate wins by two scores.

They are also facts.

It’s why kstate is favored.

On the Arkansas forums people seem to think we won't win another game this season. Folks seem to be melting down a lot this year.
