It is really simple.
Best player blew out his knee to start the season
2nd best player, 3 point % leader in the SEC, is out with an ankle injury
Mizzou is playing 5 freshmen
4 of the players are holdovers from a 3 year stretch where Mizzou won ~25 games total.
It is going to take some time.
If Jontay plays this year we're probably a 18 win team, without him and Mark Smith on the court we're not going to win many.
