VC.... so mad.
With Schiano Rutgers was heads and shoulders better than Syracuse has been since McNabb left. NJ is a better recruiting area than upstate NY too.
S. Miss was 12-2 last season. Syracuse was under .500 and Arizona St. was under .500. Oh and that 6-7 ASU team beat Mizzou last season as well. Seems to be that S. Miss is the stronger team.
You're right I know nothing about Arkansas' scheduling plans, just speculating like what all of us do on these boards. So in a few years check back, maybe I'll look like 1/2 the idiot you do on a daily basis.

What has Arkansas done to be qualified to mentor Missouri in the Vulgarities of the SEC? If Missouri wants to be like a "BigSix" then they need to listen to a "BigSixer"
You'll find no gold in an salt mine!!

Well, Mizzou is 23-1 in OOC games over the LAST 6 years, with the lone loss coming last year on the road in overtime after Pinkel iced our own kicker at end of regulation....so frankly, I will take you up on that. Sounds to me like we probably will get to stay in the SEC.

I didn't read all 4 pages, but judging from the title and first page, we aren't giving Ole Miss enough credit for their scheduling. Their schedule makes me think of Kramer in the Seinfeld episode where he is taking Karate with all the little kids.

Arizona State though is notorious for starting seasons strong and then tanking badly late, and that is exactly what they did last year, surging into the Top 25 and peaking at 6-2 then flubbing their final five games. Point being, traditionally playing ASU in September is not the same as playing them late - and that was true last year. The same Arizona State team that needed overtime and Pinkel icing our own kicker to beat us also pummeled the USC Trojans by 21 points in September. Let that sink in for a second. Good.
Then ponder my post above where I note that ASU was Mizzou's only OOC loss in the last six years, with us being 23-1 in that span (2-0 vs SEC).

While Mizzou pussyfooted around OOC w/ ASU and Illinois then 3 cupcakes annually trying to show the Big 10 that they were a perfect fit, Arkansas was going on the road getting skull drugged against USC, Texas, and having the most brutal run against conference foes known in NCAA history as the SEC has won 6 titles in a row. We also whipped A2M yearly and played potent and competitive Tulsa and Troy.
All during that time we never once traveled to play away at a piddly non BCS conference team. To top that we haven't played OOC on another school's campus that wasn't ranked in the top 10 ever since we joined the SEC. (I'm taking the time to look up the facts on this one) The last time we played an OOC game on an unranked school's campus was in 1987 at Hawaii in Honolulu at season's end.
We played SMU at the Cotton Bowl & Shreveport(off campus), Memphis at the Liberty Bowl (off campus), and Ole Miss in Jackson 2x.
Big time teams don't travel to podunk pissant schools unless it's a huge game against highly ranked teams with a ton of national attention. You make em come to you, so you get the ticket sales and financial windfall.

Or, more like we were playing our natural geographic rival that sits right across the river from St.Louis and includes much of the St.Louis metro population...and also were showcasing our team in an NFL stadium in a fun, split crowd atmosphere...and proceeded to curb stomp the hell out of the Illini going 6-0 against them including their 2007 Rose Bowl team...but yeah we were only doing that to try to get in the Big 10, don't let common sense get in your way.

Arkansas was going on the road getting skull drugged against...Texas
Mizzou has played on the road against Texas mutliple times in the Big 12, and we didn't always get skull drugged - almost won there in 2004. You don't get points for "tough" OOC games if Mizzou was playing the EXACT SAME TEAM on its Big 12 sched, sorry that won't impress me.
quote:
We also whipped A2M yearly
And Mizzou has beaten A&M 5 of the last 6 times, including 3 of Mizzou's last 4 visits to College Station (which is tougher than playing them on a neutral field like you did). Again, point being, this is not any sort of "OOC accomplishment" that shows you as being stronger than Mizzou.
quote:
and played potent and competitive...Troy
Umm, Mizzou played Troy twice in 2004 and 2005. So do we get any points from you for playing that "potent and competitive" team or not? Or will you just stick to your arbitrary double standard?

Key word CAMPUS, he had to slip that in there as if playing an OOC in another school's home city isn't for all intents and purposes the same damn thing and just another road game at a non-top 10 OOC opponent. He had to say that becuase...
quote:
We played SMU at the Cotton Bowl
SMU is in Dallas. The Cotton Bowl was in Dallas. This was a road game against a non-top 10 OOC opponent. Quit the bullshite. Mizzou played SMU at the Cotton Bowl in the late 1990s. You know what I and every other Mizzou fan viewed it as, because that's what it was? A fricking OOC road game against a non-top 10 opponent.

Memphis at the Liberty Bowl
The Liberty Bowl is in Memphis. Memphis is in (gasp) Memphis. This was a road game against a non-top 10 OOC opponent. Quit the bullshite.

Except Arkansas when it plays road games at SMU and Memphis apparently.
What a crock of horseshite.
Again, Mizzou is 23-1 in OOC in the last 6 years. Read it and weep. And I'm being kind and not including OOC bowl victories, like, say, I dunno, Mizzou's 38-7 curb stomping of Arkie in 2007 that you doubtless have a littany of retarded and tired excuses for.
Served. Next.

Who are Arky fans to be talking shite? Yall seem to go out of your way to rag on the new guys and do all this bs SEC chest thumping even though you've had plenty of stretches of mediocrity yourselves. Glass houses and all that. Did this bunch talk shite like this before Petrino came along?
Posted on 8/14/12 at 12:23 pm to BrocraticMethod
Good question. I figure they probably did, they seem a lot like Nebraska fans without any real success. There's nothing else to do in either state and they both zealously support their teams sometimes to a delusional level
Also awesome screen name.

I loved that cotton bowl win as much as any other mizzou fan, but I'll admit it gets mentioned on the rant far too much. The one thing about that arky team is how stacked they were in the backfield. I really hope peyton has a good season for my chiefs, he seems like a real good dude
