There has been speculation about Pinkel retiring in the near future. I believe he is 58 years old. After what he has done for the program I don't see him leaving us for another job, but has has stated that he does not want to be coaching when he's 70.

Our University finally seems to actually care about sports so I would hope that we would find a competent replacement.

We were all surprised that our Chancellor was on board with the SEC move. That took some balls, as many people were furious about the traditions being left behind. Of course, when you factor in we had already lost 2 rivals and now another school from the conference the notion of "tradition" doesn't mean a whole lot.

Nick Saban was Pinkel's teammate in college. Guess Mizzou is his next stop...

I just hope we don't hire the Frank Haith of football as a replacement.

The biggest problem with Faurot is that it is far from the field since there used be a full track around it. So it is spaced out more than most SEC stadiums.

If you go back and look at the history of SEC stadiums, you'd be surprised how many of them were originally built with tracks around the field.

In fact, although it didn't have a track, the stands at mid-field at Bryant-Denny are probably further from the field than similar seats at every other SEC facility.

Lowering the field to "bring seats closer" really means lowering it so that you can add rows between the current first row and the sideline--it does nothing to bring your existing seats closer. And, if lowering makes the angle worse, then you've made all your existing seats worse in the process. All those SEC stadiums above manage to make it without having seats right on top fo the sidelines.

This just proves how stupid you are. Ever had Boulevard or Schlafly?

I was talking mostly about Anheuser-Busch. The only Schlafly beer that is worth a damn is their Oatmeal Stout IMO, because I'm a dark beer person. Boulevard is meh. I'll take some Sweetwater or Jailhouse.

I love the yapping coming from uk fans. You know you are up in someones kitchen when they do this much yapping overs some mundane BS.

The fear is palpable...and tasty.

Look forward to stomping you repeatedly on the football field kitties.

You Misery fans are the ones yapping. You're not even one of us yet. Get over yourselves. You don't even belong.

We bring more to this conference than you will. You'll be in the bottom half of the SEC in football and basketball.

You are trying to "win" the football venue argument. You should try and "win" on the field sometime.

I have not done any "yapping". I have only defended my alma mater in silly threads like this one. The Mizzou admin, its alumni and its fanbase know that the stadium needs improvement and those improvements are on the way.

I am the first person that would concede that Mizzou has a long way to go to compete with the top programs in the SEC in football. However, uk NOT one of them. The elite programs can lean on years of tradition and winning to "throw" in Mizzou's face to back their arguments, uk has to resort to "our stadiums bigger!" That is pretty telling.

I wasn't trying to win the "football venue" argument. I was trying to prove to your dumb fellow fan that our stadium isn't filled with opposing teams fans. Read the thread before you say dumb shite.
