Mizzou fans should be damn happy at 7-2 and a chance to win the East.

Trust me, we are! Hence the rest of my earlier post - it wouldn't surprise me to see us to lose out either. I'm thrilled to be where we are.

So old Big 12 North > current SEC East?

Would love to play Texas in a bowl. Oh that's right you have to have at least 6 wins to be bowl eligible. Maybe next year!

Funny how that changes. First it was ALL of the West. Now it's the contenders. So I guess if Mizzou beats TAMU and Arky it won't mean shite. Sorta like last year when they beat Ole Miss and TAMU, ah that didn't matter.

LOL@ SEC fans dick riding Ole Miss and Mississippi State. I guess they are now SEC powerhouses. When you guys use to talk shite on them and make jokes about them. One good year and they are the shits. No wonder people outside of the SEC are laughing.

Yeah I love this as well. Pretty soon they will see Ole Miss is a fraud as well that just happened to beat a potentially overrated Alabama team and then we will be down to Miss State, Auburn, and LSU.

Going in, I thought 8 wins would be a good season. How we're getting there has surprised me but I'll take it. Can't ask for more than to be in control of your own destiny. Having said that, I agree with semo. Wouldn't be shocking to win our last three and wouldn't be shocking if we lost them. The offense is just way too unpredictable.

I am going to offer up the excuse of excuses here and realize that nobody will want to hear it but we are basically one bs pass interference call against Indiana away from 8-1 and probably ranked in the playoff top 15-20. So of course you shouldn't be in that position against Indiana to begin with but plenty of good teams have had scares against mediocre competition and pulled a win out of their butt. We just happened to get screwed by the refs at the end of the IU game. Still would have the arse pounding against Georgia but why we continued to get punished and not even ranked with a 7-2/4-1 SEC record is beyond me.

I am starting to become really proud of this team. I really thought the UGA game was the wheels coming of the bus moment, but, they have hunkered down, changed the gameplan to work with what they have, and have somehow pulled out some victories. This is an extremely young and inexperienced squad that is starting to grow, little by little. not saying the wheels can't or won't still fall off and 0-3 to 3-0 or anything in between to finish the season would not surprise me at all. GO TIGERS!!!

You have to hand it to the coaches and players. Could have easily did what USCe is doing.

Since Auburn resents its luck so much Mizzou ought to apply to replace them as 'luckiest.' Y'all have certainly had the year to make a case for it. One of the strangest seasons I can recall and winning in the strangest ways possible - who wins by a zillion points but with zero actual offense against Florida? Mizzou does!

Even your loss to Indy and your QB's play has been weird. Yet you keep winning. Y'all steal some Auburn luck at halftime when Gus wasn't looking? C'mon fess up. What was it? Inquiring minds want to know!

The defense has continued to improve since Indiana. Our LBs are making a lot more plays and our CBs, especially Kenya Dennis are playing better. We've changed our offensive philosophy. We're attacking less and trying to control the ball and play field position more. If Mauk doesn't turn the ball over, we're tough to beat.

Mizzou draws the ire/hatred of all the SEC 'necks because they don't belong and have no identity. They are viewed as irrelevant Yankees and garner little respect in the powerhouse SEC. To come in as everyone's perceived bitch, with below SEC standards in recruiting, stadium, and no name Gary Pinkel...and proceed to beat (often easily) all of the establishment...just stokes the fire. Mizzou is an affront to all things holy in the SEC, quite possibly showing the Nation how overrated the SEC might be. Or perhaps that's all bullshite and the' necks are just slow to change. The tears are real, and Mizzou needs to just STFU and continue to win. Respect will only be earned in the SEC with wins.

Getting Dennis in there over Gibson has been huge if you ask me. Scherer and Brothers stepping up each week at LB has been fun to watch. Knew what we had in Golden and Ray. Don't hear the safeties names much, which is probably a good thing.

I don't know if it's luck or just winning ugly. The Indiana game was all offense and no defense, which baffles me. If the defense plays half as good as they currently are, we blow Indiana out.

I think they pretty much shut any offense down now once we get a lead. At that point, they just don't want to turn the ball over. Get a 1st down, maybe 2, and punt and let the defense go to work.

Seriously, to be even in this position in a rebuilding year is awesome. It's been nerve wracking, hair pulling, gut wrenching fun so far, and we may win out or we may lose out. At this point our HC and staff deserve some credit for finding a way to win games with this offense.

It has been crazy, and your post hit the nail on the head! Who would have thought "Old Man Football" would keep us in the conversation for the east.

I completely agree about Dennis. He has completely stepped up the play of the corners. He's playing great, and Penton on the other corner, MU solid there for a couple more years.

I think Pinkel went down to the crossroads and was told "and all a good season will cost you is the shame of losing to Indiana..." and jumped on the deal.

Good call on Dennis. He was an absolute beast in that Kentucky game.

good deal in my opinion. this deal with the Devil was definitely loaded in Pinkel's favor.

No doubt. Pinkel got a great deal. Must've had a fantastic attorney.

I bleed black and gold, and couldn't care less what some redneck Southerners with reptilian minds think of my state or school, but Mizzou deserves nothing until it wins a conference championship.

If that happens, I'm sure the excuses will come hot and heavy (bad day for Auburn/MSU; refs gave it to MU; food poisoning at the hotel, etc.), but that's what needs to be happen before Mizzou can legitimately claim to 'deserve' anything.

Are there any MSU fans out there willing to acknowledge the same as it relates to their school?
