Just getting it out of the way. If he didn't want to be in the closet he shouldn't be.

And I 100& agree...but it just seems like awful timing. He could have done it earlier in his football career or wait 5 months until he signs a contract.

It's great timing. He'll go to a team that's fully aware of what the circus will be. He'll also do very well with future endorsements to offset any signing loss due to draft status.

Yes; and a completely unbiased opinion it would be I'm sure!

I'm not so sure about that.

I think the market has become pretty saturated with using homosexuality to sell beer.

Yeah, he was just jealous of how gays are treated and so he chose to be gay so he, too, could take advantage of the treatment of gays

Obviously didn't read the rest of my post. Coming out as gay now assures him of relevance for the rest of his life. I'm not saying he's faking being gay, I'm saying he saw the landscape of things right now and made a smart business decision about his future. It's brilliant, really.

In a few years, he'll be raking the money in, not only for endorsements, but for public opportunities. People eat this shite up.

Most people aren't anti gay, but the anti gay crowd is pretty vocal.

I agree. I know many don't but in a few years this will pay off big.

I should choose to be gay, so I can get in on this smart business as well! Hell, everyone should choose to be gay!

I don't know whether he will get drafted or not after this. He was a bottom-half-of-the-draft pick anyway. Most organizations don't want controversy so I expect that they will avoid it if they can.

Reading comp isn't your strong suit. I hope you do something better.

The homophobes in this thread have to have been either raised or brainwashed, since it's not in a humans nature to hate from birth.

Good for Michael Sam for coming out.

I think doing it before the draft was smart, much better to get drafted by a team that's aware of it than finding out later and not being cool with it.
