How many NFL football players have issued statements to the media coming out as straight? I couldn't care less one way or the other if he's gay or not, but this comes off as a cry for publicity and attention to me. Not acceptance.

I think they are born that way. I have gay females in my family. We knew they'd be gay when they were younger, acted too tomboyish. But no gay men, thank god. And they better not come out being gay, better straighten that shite up quick if they thinking about being gay. Girls can be gay, no gay boys in my family.

you and your family are beacons for ignorance

Good. So we're not talking about that at all. We're talking about sexuality, which is decidedly mutable.

its more, we are recognizing how brave it is for a man coming out who wants to play pro football when pro football is historically anti gay

I posted after saying that it's only more because of how divided society is. I don't blame Sam for the circus it's about to be.

Why isn't there tons of commentary about an athlete that either gets a divorce or has a child out of wedlock?

Having 9 kids by 7 different women is ok, as long as it means you aren't sucking a dick. There's a logic for building a strong community.

Doesnt make it any less true.

So homosexuality is all good with Catholics, Mormoms, Muslims, Hindus, and Jehovah Witnesses?

1: Good for Sam, that's a bold decision given what he intends to do for a living.

2: I have no issue with homosexuality, but just because someone does doesnt make them a bigot. Most people dont even know what the word means anymore. SOME people who believe homosexuality is wrong are bigots, many are not.

People who throw around bigot annoy me just as much as those who actively bash homosexuals.

You are crawfishing. Now it is about the interpretation of the word as it relates to not eating shellfish. Is that correct?

It's a huge publicity stunt. He's not "brave." He's rather egotistical to think people give a frick.

the official catholic stance is that being gay is not a sin until you have sex. Now I personally do not care either way, and the majority of catholics I know do not either, but the official catholic stance unfortunatly isn't very accepting

Why the frick is it anyone's business what your sexual preference is? I don't hate gays but dammit why do they have to make such a big deal about who and what they prefer to frick. Keep your life style and preference between your family and friends, because if his coming out now this dirt bag will be watched and judged different from everyone else. Now if he gets hit hard on the field it will automatically have something to do with him being gay, this will frick sports forever.
