Yea because it's not like the 2 are tied together...Jesus,and you're calling me retarded?

Vegas is forecasting a point spread on a future event. In any world that you're not part of its a PREDICTION and people bet on said prediction.

Interesting.

Impossible. We’ve seen our secondary. It cannot be easier than we expect.

Vegas does not care.

They set a line so both sides betting will about even out then take a fee for making the bets. Vegas wins no matter who wins.

If you are betting in a Calcutta you are not beating reality but betting on what others perceive as reality by how they wager.

In pari mutuel betting "on track" and "off track" pools can vary even tho it is the same event.

Personally, feels like it will be low scoring by both sides with UK getting at least one score from their defense. If it does rain, the running game will favor the passing game tho. Seems this should be a pick em with Mizzou getting the FG love for home field. If it is not, would be to some stat like fumbles or interceptions if one team gets far away from the other.

These are still kids and something like getting stoned the night before the game could create a dynamic that changes the outcome. Saw it happen decades ago when two teams got wasted when bowling the night before. Both lost games they were favored to win and unless you were at the bowling alley with them and saw it you would not have adjusted your projections.

Because UK has a better record with some impressive wins on it.

You spend too much time looking at spread sheets and not enough time watching football. Missouri is at least one TD better than Kentucky right now.

Retarded was harsh. My point was that they don’t predict based on the accuracy of the game itself, they predict based on what people will bet on.

Is your secondary not good? Luckily our passing game is poor to below poor at least the last 2 games.

We will need Wilson to throw some just to open up the run, and we will be in trouble if he only throws for 25 yards in the game, unless he runs for 125 I guess.

Not bad meme. Almost 200 a game. I'd have to go look, but UK is pretty stingy in giving up yards, so I would think we would have an advantage there.

But if Missouri does what they should do and put 8 guys in the box and dare us to throw on them, it might be a huge problem for UK if Wilson can't shake this funk he is in.

I'm not certain what you mean by this but the object of an opening Las Vegas line is an attempt to pick a number that will bring in an equal amount of money on both teams. If that occurs, then the line will not move. If the initial betting reflects a preference for one team then the line will move a half point or point in an attempt to balance the money coming in on both teams. The casino has no vested interest in the outcome of the game. They will pay the winners with the losers money and pocket the juice (the percentage that it costs to play).

This will be a good match up. Mizzou's DL is stout enough to give UK a hard time, especially since everyone knows you can sell out to stop the run without much fear of UK's QB burning you through the air. That said, Mizzou has had a tendency to lose to UK even when they had no business doing so.

If that is the key? Then why is Missouri favor by 6?

I was just explaining why Mizzou being favored is a little surprising.

Missouri opened at -6 in 2016 as well. We saw how that turned out.

Is that why he got a little snarky with me? I mean UK has fewer losses and a more impressive win than Mizzou. So Mizzou being favored surprised me a little bit. He could have just said that Mizzou matches up well with UK is why.

Paschal might be back this week! Been wanting to see that pass rush with him and Josh Allen in at the same time.
