Why don't LSU do the same thing for basketball?

They are not in the SEC, they are in the B1G.

When they got rid of the rock "M" they became cursed like the Cubs did with that goat.

Sad stuff, you have to have some empathy for Yankee Columbia

Think about it piggy. MO has one of the most storied MLB franchises in MLB history in the same category as the Yankees, Sox & Dodgers (St. Louis Cardinals). The Royals have won a WS or 2 as well. Just a fact, pro baseball is king. Due to the focus being on MLB in MO, college baseball has always taken a backseat. Ya’ll don’t know much about pros sports down in Arky & swampy.

The state of California has several of them. Your point? MO is CA? Then go Big Ten.

What’s your point UTranny?!

Comparing CA to MO. Apples to oranges. Again, who gives a frick about college baseball?! Would I prefer a winner, sure, but in the end it’s kind of a worthless sport on the college sports landscape.

Good for you. Enjoy.

The fact that pro baseball is embedded in the culture here is no excuse for bad college baseball. It’s just a fact. It’s one of the reasons people aren’t demanding a better product. You’d think it would be better here considering how big baseball is. Unfortunately,it is a stagnant sport. I love it & would love to see Mizzou invest in it, but in reality there’s no money in it. If pro ball wasn’t so big, people would notice how bad Mizzou has been. The average Joe could care less.

As usual those who claim to care nothing about a particular sport seem to be the most offended. If college baseball is worthless, why are you here?

I mean, it's obviously worthless to Missouri, or maybe they are beating their chest with a DEI hire since Mizzou was the epicenter for the DEI movement.

It's important in the SEC or there wouldn't be 10k plus showing up at so many different parks. Except for Tenner whose Little League park knocks down the average attendance numbers. Guess Mizzou's does too.

It is pretty embarrassing. Mizzou is probably never going to be a baseball juggernaut with two MLB franchises bookending Columbia, but this degree of lack of investment in the baseball program is inexcusable. I think there is a baseline expectation as an SEC program to at least make some effort to be competitive. And that should start with forking out some cash to hire a better coach, and then improving the stadium. And this is coming from someone who really doesn't care about college baseball.

Like I said, I wish they were good, but I don’t have millions to donate to the program. That would take a donor that cares. Why would I care since they have not been good & traditionally (except since the rebuild began) had the Cardinals to fill my baseball needs.
It is worthless from a revenue generating perspective. I don’t care how many fans show up. Money drives college athletics these days in case you haven’t heard.

And take your DEI shite & shove it. UTrans is as DEI as they come. The blue dot of TX. Mizzou fired all of those loons & let’s be real. Every university is full of the loons, so don’t blame Mizzou.

Baseball at several SEC schools, at least at Arkansas, is self-sustaining. I would suspect State, Ole Miss and LSU, with stadium capacities in excess of 10k and regularly selling out, would also be in the black.

Self-sustaining is different from what the big 2 sports generate.

As mentioned, it’s going to take a donor to step up. Mizzou got some big donations recently for other secondary sports. Hopefully baseball is next. It’s going to take a new facilities. In other words, a huge donation. I’d bet Veach is working on that. He’s not even a year in.

That would be incorrect actually. UT-Austin was aborting DEI initatives and laying off DEI staff long before Trump came into the picture. Actually well before most Universities - due to Texas state politics.

You basically are just a loose cannon mouthpiece.

They are a RPI killer. SEC should really step in and tell them they have to give a shite or they will be booted
