And with regard to the classic lines about Aggies believing we're good when we're not (or something to that effect), the source of our hubris is found in the fact that there is no reason for us not to be good considering what we have.
Alas, it makes for a great Aggie joke.

Missouri has been a very good football team over the last decade however that claim will fall on deaf ears on this section of this web site where few look at football beyond their backyard
...but there are a few, I assure you.

I would never have guessed that Marshall would have the best winning percentage. Of course, they didn't play many games..."officially" anyway.

I forgot how good Colorado once was
they won a title in 1990 (albeit on 5th down) an were the second best team in the big 8. I remeber when we beat them in the blockbuster bowl it was actually a big win.

LOL @ your entire post. 5-1 over the last decade, dude. We haven't played every year, so I don't know why you're congratulating us on the past 6. I can't believe a post so arrogant was made by a fan of a program that's won a grand total of 4 bowl games since 1990

You've won 5, so congrats on that one I guess

The decade you're referencing is what was mentioned in the post. But by all means, continue to pretend as if my improper use of the word "years" in the stead of "games" -- a purely collateral matter -- has any effect on the verifiable facts mentioned with respect to the discrepancy between the two programs.
Again, I commend your program on the advantage it holds over our last six games.

Overall history w/l records is over rated

Agreed. Considering the comprehensive context of any subject offers no clear guidance to the resolution of a dispute.

It makes more sense to compare coaching records...for instance, Gary Pinkel is a better coach than Reggie Herring with his 1-0 advantage

Has everything to do with coaching... Always does. Our last two coaches sucked. TAMU will always out recruit Mizzou therefore media thinks Ags have more POTENTIAL... And we do. TAMU also has better facilities and much larger donors... See potential. Doesn't matter unless you execute on that potential.
What coaching does with it remains to be seen.
With that said, the past means shite.
It's hard for some people to grasp that.

That depends, does Mizzou have a football-only weight room?

Myopic. Painfully, so.
We're bigger, have more money, more fans, better facilities, better game day experience, and better tradition. None of these realities are up for dispute.
However, we also had Franchione and Sherman (hence your conveniently noted sample-record).
We'll always recruit better and our inherent advantages will always be present. These are obvious, reasonable explanations for why we believe we'll be successful (also reasons why two of your commitments switched to us despite not receiving offers until very late in the game).
A&M's impediment to success has been our incompetent decision-makers. Decisions regarding coaching, to be exact.
We're quite cognizant of the last decade. Fortunately -- for purposes of this discussion -- it was our second worst in the history of our program.
Congrats on the last six years, though. FWIW, I think y'all can stay reasonably successful until UT returns to its normal state.
Holy shite. Its pompous beyond belief bullshite like this that makes me glad my son chose to go to Mizzou over A&M and the Air Force Academy. What a pant load you must be in real life.
The TAMU posters here with some reasonable perspective are a nice and needed balance.

I believe so, not 100% sure though

A facility like Kyle Field can't be beat.
The little bleachers in the endzone are a nice touch.

Being in the state of Texas and being the only school that can say they play in the SEC is a big advantage.
Listen, I like A&M, I always cheered for you guys in the Big 12 (except against us). However, you are going to be Texas' little brother for the foreseeable future. Until that changes, A&M has a ceiling, just like Mizzou.
We'll take our lumps, I have no doubt about that. We all know the potential is there, but that's simply a moral victory for us at this time.
That said, I don't have an issue with what you're saying about Texas. They will recruit better than us right now, and most likely for the foreseeable future. One thing I believe we should add though, is that A&M's success is almost directly proportional to how well OU recruits the state of Texas. When they are recruiting equal to, or right below tu, it really knocks A&M down. They also tend to be much better than tu, so just because we're the "little brother" according to most, doesn't mean there isn't plenty of talent to go around. The key to success for A&M lies in their ability, and inability to recruit better than OU.

The whole SEC is jelly over those facilities

Well, how can the SEC compete with a school so massive that it has a satellite campus in Qatar? That Middle East money has given aTm a beautiful gray concrete football stadium and translated to countless BigXII wins. Ya know?
