It depends on how the new DC works out. Our last guy wasn't great but we can definitely go backwards if we made a poor hire.
I think the conservative hope is 10-2. I think the aggressive hope puts 12-0 within reach due to Saban retiring.

Gotta win at least 9 to keep the momentum going.

Heart says 10-2 or 11-1
Past trauma tells me 9-3… or worse.
Would be nice for my heart to finally be right.

We’re talking Midzou here.

With all the shite your coach and fans have been talking, OU will come to your house and whip your arse.

But again, this team punched Georgia and Ohio State in the mouth last year.
No you didn't "punch them in the mouth".

You beat an Ohio St team with one hand tied behind their backs due to opt-outs, and it took you all 4 quarters in a snooze-fest, and you talk like you're David who slew Goliath.
All of your regular season wins last year were against mediocre to turd teams and your best win(s) had 4 losses or more on the season.

You do realize this is a thread directed at Mizzou fans and you are an OU fan talking shite in it? Of course you don't.

Anything less than 9 wins is a letdown.
I think 10-2, and closer to 11 than 9.

Not gonna lie, I thought Mizzou was fool’s gold last year until they played Georgia in Athens.
They played Georgia as close as anyone did in between the hedges. I was very impressed how physical and gritty they were as well as having very good talent at the skill positions. I honestly don’t see them going away. Drinkwitz isn’t the most amicable guy but he’s seemed to figure out something in Columbia.
in 2022 in columbia we led against georgia until approximately the four minute mark of the 4th quarter. drink's figured something out about how you hang with georgia
i think barring catastroc injuries we should be a double digit win again. i wouldn't bet on us beating bama, but unlike every other time we've played them since joining the sec, we should have a realistic shot at doing so

can you list for us all the ohio state players that opted out of the cotton bowl?

-Marvin Harrison Jr (your Luther Burden) opted out.
-Starting QB transferred after the regular season
-Backup QB who got all the bowl prep work went down in the 2nd Quarter leaving a true freshman, fresh out of HS, who wasn't at all ready to play college football.
How many opt-outs/starter transfers did Mizzou have?

Better question: How do think Mizzou fares in this game if Luther Burden opted out and they had to start a true freshman QB in the 2nd quarter against a full strength tOSU?

Ohio state won a natty with a 3rd string QB. With the level they recruit compared to Mizzou - they should’ve been able to run the ball 50 times and score more than 13 points to win the game.
Ohio State, Bama, and Georgia are the 3 teams who have gone nuclear with multiple top 3 classes every year. Theres zero excuses if they step on the field with a team. Everyone deals with injuries/ opt outs.

so you're saying mhjr opted out and nobody else. mccord got ran off to syracuse i believe because their coaching staff didn't think he was good enough. their starting qb brown was like 3-6 for 15 yards and had been sacked or hit every time he dropped back because their line couldn't block us for a second. he was knocked out of the game the time we sacked him in the second quarter
nobody for mizzou opted out, but rakestraw and hooper, who went on to be second and third round draft picks, were both our with injuries

That's entirely irrelevant. It's not the same guy.

No I don't think so. When a defense knows what's coming every play and everybody can just run to the RB at the snap, just having better recruiting classes isn't going to matter

Just because you have had good recruiting classes doesn't mean they're ready to play. We're talking about a tOSU QB who had just gotten out of HS and was a true freshman who hadn't played a down of college football. You can pretend "that shouldn't matter" all you want, but it does.

Mizzou had 3 starters out with injury on defense for the game against Ohio State. And we still held them to zero TDs. Don't act like the win over OSU wasn't a good win. Everyone acts like they didn't even field a team.

The last time I predicted Missouri's final record they lost to Army in a bowl game. I shall be kind to my buddies to the North and refrain from putting my evil on them.

You should go look at the opt-outs and see who had more draft picks sitting on the sideline that game.

i wouldn't expect mizzou to really win any game against a quality team where our qb is getting sacked or hit every time he drops back to pass
rakestraw who was a second round pick at cb and hooper a third rounder were both out with injuries

You realize that was because Mizzou obliterated their healthy OL, right?
