STARKVILLE, Miss. – The countdown clock to Mississippi State’s 2013 season opener can now be officially set for 2:30 p.m. on August 31. The Bulldogs will kickoff the 2013 campaign against Oklahoma State in the Texas Kickoff Classic at Reliant Stadium in Houston, and the game will be televised on nationally on ABC and ESPN2. ABC will carry the game throughout much of the country, with the game on ESPN2 in other areas, giving the contest a national reach.

“When we first began talking about the opportunity to participate in the Texas Kickoff Classic, we knew there would be a large national appeal to this game,” head coach Dan Mullen said. “The fact that it’ll be available on ABC and will be a nationally televised game just reaffirms our thoughts.”

Tickets for the Texas Kickoff Classic are available through the Mississippi State ticket office and the official Mississippi State team hotel in Houston will be the Hyatt Regency. Tickets can be purchased either by calling 888-GO-DAWGS or online at www.hailstate.com/tickets.

Bundy I think your recruiting in the past few years on the defensive line will be what gets you a win in this game. It will help your Dbs and give you more time and lead to turn overs. If not your gonna get burned.

Not really that young we will have a Sr safety JUCO All American Corner and RS Soph DB and safety starting.

Our CB's are inexperienced.. Their WR's are multiple year starters. It should be interesting. Hopefully we find ways to get pressure to take the pressure off our DB's

Not a bad undercard for the main event to follow.

Bundy's demeanor on the recruiting trail is something fierce. Lots of capitalized words and questions.

Exactly if we don't get pressure early and often and rattle their Quarterback then we will be screwed

I'm not all that excited for Bama vs a Va Tech team who went 7-6 last year.

Whether we are young or not, we are extremely inexperienced. There's no need in trying to deny that.

Inexperienced would have been the better word, especially something the CB position
