Apparently a state player has beaten a kid so severely in a fight that the kid has a broken neck and a brain bleed. Is this true or is it just an awful rumor? Prayers for all involved!

Sadly this happens too often in the U.S. now. Hope it is not true for the victims family sake.

It happens alot in the US. You are correct. In no way am I making this about Mississippi State or the program. I just would like more information. I hate this scenario for the whole state of Mississippi.

Apparently he followed him to another bar and waited for him. He was upset about a drink being spilled on him. Essentially he laid in wait. This shows intent. The assailant is from Jackson, MS. Poor choice by this young man.

Now is actually way better than it was 30 years ago? Violent crime is about half it was in in the 90s. But back then if it happened, nobody outside of that town hears about it. People were aware back then but never this plugged into crime, especially when it wasn't a local violent crime. How often did the normal citizen hear one town or state over?

Violent crime had an uptick in 2020 but it still is unbelievably lower compared to the 90s.

Sadly too many people rely on online anecdotes and confirmation bias instead of the actual data too often in the U.S. now.

If true, the player needs to be arrested, kicked out of school and made to sleep with the rest of the dirt bag down at the county jail. I'm sure he won't have any problem finding a fight in there! Some of these athletes think they are above the law and need a serious dose of reality. Maybe Bubba can bend him over and beat his arse in more ways than one.

Shush. That is not the accepted narrative at this point. You are supposed to bemoan the downfall of society. Have you no shame? Bringing facts into this discussion?

Yeah, dude deserves everything the courts can give him if this is the case.

There are very, very few things that this would be deserving for anyone to take a beating that would cause those kind of injuries.

Yep. People have their narrative (probably based on the current administration) and get very upset at basic statistics that say armageddon is not outside their doors. I get thumbed down but no counter argument. They remind of people that will throw a fit if you point out an unarmed african american is more likely to be struck by lighting than be killed by a cop.

The 90s were completely f'd. Sorry if people in bigger cities like New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis or Jackson have selective amnesia but it was a nightmare.
