Isn't it painful enough keeping up with MSU hoops during the season?

Hope you enjoyed a few years of State basketball not having a pulse, Howland is coming in dry.

Talk to me when you make a final 4. How many west championships have you won? How many conference championships you won?

football camps open this week. Let's talk about how our crappy hoops teams are dong this offseason.

They showed out. Carter hit 5 3's in regulation and went for over 20 I believe. Multiple started the game actually. And this was without Ado and Kegler, going to give us a significant boost down low. The media just got back to hotel so should have a stat update soon.

All very talented, but will go through the typical freshman growing pains.
The star of the day was probably Tyson Carter who had a good day shooting the ball. The rest had flashes that showed their talent and potential, but had some typical freshman lapses also.

I read that this Lithuanian team beat Georgetown when they played.

They did, last year. That was a good team, winning this game says a lot about where this team is.

I hope this carriers over to next year. 3 point shooting has been bad for a few years. If State can shoot at least 35% from 3 , could win a lot more game. I think Newman was overrated and him leaving doesn't hurt at all and might could help us out.

MSU Improves To 2-0 In Italy Behind Weatherspoon’s 34
quote:
n MONTECATINI, Italy – In just two games in Italy, a common theme has quickly unfolded — Quinndary Weatherspoon can put up a lot of points, while the freshmen can score in bunches as well. Both times that's equated into wins as Mississippi State improved to 2-0 Monday with a 93-85 victory against Lithuania. Weatherspoon poured in a game-high 34 points after totaling 29 in the foreign opener. And like the first game, he didn't have to shoulder the entire load as freshmen Lamar Peters and Tyson Carter scored 20 and 16 points, respectively.

Freshman Tyson Carter shines as MSU goes to 3-0 in Italy
quote:
the highly-touted freshman did put on a superstar-like performance, scoring 31 points in leading Mississippi State to an easy 96-66 victory as the Bulldogs improved to 3-0 on this four-game European tour.
MSU concludes play Friday in Switzerland against a Kosovo national team at 9 a.m. CT before returning to the United States late Sunday after 13 days overseas.
"We wanted to come out with a lot of intensity and keep up the work and success we've been having," said Carter, who has now scored 72 points in three games. "We ended up improving as the game went on. I think we got a lot better today."
The 2016 Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year scored 22 of his points in the second half. With scoring leader Quinndary Weatherspoon on the bench in the second half with stomach pains, Carter's performance was critical.
Despite the margin of victory, the Bulldogs led just 49-36 at the break thanks to Carter's half-court shot at the buzzer in addition to Weatherspoon scoring all 14 of his points in the opening two quarters.
quote:
It wasn't just Carter who performed big, as MSU had two players record double-doubles.
Point guard Lamar Peters had 11 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore forward Aric Holman had 12 points and 11 boards. Eli Wrighthad another strong outing with 17 points on 7-9 shooting.

We are gonna be a vastly improved shooting team.

educational opportunity for the players.
how so?

Traveling abroad, especially in a place like Italy, is educational, whether you're playing basketball or not. It's an opportunity most of these kids and their families probably could never have dreamed of.
